Not just Szcenzy, we always make stupid mistakes when we don't need to (Szce and Flamini latest of many examples....) it's arsene's fault...not being facetious, but then it's a LONG running trend...

anyhow, i never thought we'd capitulate, and pleased it was a comprehensive performance (and hatrick for our supposed "shitty/underwhelming signing")

Always kinda bugs me when Ches fvcks up, then walks off the field with a half smirk on his face like he was totally in the right. I think Ospina deserves a bit of a run as a starter but Ches is good most of the time so i dont really mind.

Ozil and Welbeck picking up speed. Hope they carry it over to Chelsea.

There was a period where he had 3 in about 10 minutes and the announcers still couldn't say anything positive about him. I don't care if he looks like he is on death row with a bad leg as long as he keeps creating chances like today.

At least AW sees what announcers and analysts don't.

    British commentary is 95.45% shit.

Great game, and yes it was a crap opponent. Hope they come out this way vs Chelski.

Take commentary with a grain of salt. Commentators think LVG is a genius remember.

Ozil was out of sync with the other attackers until we got the first goal. After that he was really good.

Özil and Alexis aren't clicking as quickly as I'd hoped, but the rest were okay. There was one time when Alexis spun off his marker to put himself in exactly the situation I want him in and exactly what I expect Özil to enjoy him doing and he just didn't release the pass for some reason. The rest of the time it's like Alexis wants to be too involved in the play and makes himself redundant.

They'll figure each other out, I'm sure. I just hope it's soon.

True nuff! It's bc the color-commentator is usually some Brit ex-footballer from the 80's who thinks everyone should play "plucky" and run themselves ragged 100% of the time.

Finally a performance to write home about. Sure he opposition was shit, but it wasn't the first shit opposition we faced. I liked the formation tbh...other than getting shoved off a few tackles, santi did pretty well in that role. Who'd a thunk it...two central mids doing well in the center of the park. Doubt it will work against Chelsea, and it looks like jack is fit so I expect him in there.

I was really impressed with the ball movement...at time we retained possession, but when there was space Özil and the front three exploited it very fast...I think we miss that when we play with the 4 mids.

Oh and Szcez...sigh. Bring on the chavs.

Well, he has competition now and ospina will have some CL games to pry him off his spot (what's the ban for straight red in CL?). Wasn't too impressed with ospina in the cc match, but tonight he looked solid.

It'll be one match. You only get more for violent conduct. It's not a question of straight red versus two yellows, it's a question of the type of offence.

Gala sucks, but I'll take the result and the confidence that comes along with it.

Hoping this leads to at least a draw at Chelsea, though I'm not very confident about that.

He's had competition for a while, and in my opinion hasn't stood head and shoulders above any of them.

Just watched the match on dvr. This is why being an Arse fan or a football fan in general can be so great.

Many of us, including me, thought tonite might be ripe for disappointment. Man were we wrong!! :D

If it weren't for Danny Boy's trick, i'd maybe have given MOTM to Ox... he was such a positive force for us, especially in the first half.

But oh how many successful thruballs were there to wellbeck getting in behind?! It was a joy to behold. Keep that comin!

Only real blemish was Sczesney's moment of foolishness that will have more affect in one or more upcoming group matches obviously.

    But well done lads!!!

P.s. Special mention to Tony Gayle who i thought had a real good game tonite... as color commentator... generally very insightful I thought.

Welbeck gives Arsenal the pace and directness that they’ve been missing for years.

Indeed speed and skill kill. Giroud was an anchor weighing the team down

Let's not get carried away here. There were times in some of our recent draws that I thought we were really missing Giroud. I think we could have used him against Spurs. Look at all those corners that went wanting!

I wouldn't go that far. There were times when his skill set were exactly what we needed. Our problem has been when we needed more speed to release runs through the defense. We were one dimensional. It'll be nice to have OG back to have two styles of attack and the ability to change in game.
