"You can't get away with challenges like that nowadays." - Ian Joy You're right, Ian, because when you retired just three years ago at the age of 29, you could get away with challenges like that. The game has changed so much since then.
beIN is foregoing one Ligue-1 match but overall a very good schedule when taking into account the streaming service: La Liga: All 10 matches Serie A: 9 out of 10 (no Chievo v Empoli Sunday) Ligue-1: 9 out of 10 (no Lorient v Évian Saturday) In addition, they will show 2 matches each from: Russian Premier, English Championship & Liga Adelante. Thank You!.. Ian Joy is the worst soccer commentator out there. Master of the Total Obvious. i remember he once said this before a match 'Both of these teams will want to get three points, and the winner of this match will get it' really? He's a total muppet who knows nothing of the game except the score the game. He could never identify a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 or three at the back formation
Ian Joy called out Ray Hudson though in the Locker room show the other day. Gotta give him credit for that. He stands up for what he believes in and has some logic to it. Others just let Ray run his mouth and don't argue with him at all.
That would include Phil Schoen, whom Ray constantly corrects (even when unwarranted) and contradicts. I don't know how Schoen puts up with it. Ray has passed into Chris Berman Land where all that's left is the schtick.
I think Phil is just like well there is no point in arguing with him, I will just focus on what is going on with the ball. And don't get me wrong, I am one of the few who really enjoys Phil and Ray broadcasts for the most part.
So here we go again, 3 back to back 90in30s prior to infomercials Sunday night/Monday morning. Two of those matches will have aired in 90-minute form but the PSG game will have not aired. Why not show a complete PSG game and save all those 90in30s for later in the week. But no, one would have to wait until later in the week to see the PSG game, which will air after the CL match. Does BeIN think that the announcers will refrain from discussing that league match during the CL game? I know that I have posted many times that live games are not a major concern for me personally, but there is certainly a limit to a reasonable broadcast date/time and BeIN is beyond that. I also get that BeIN connect will have the game. If that's the case then in theory I could cancel my sports pack subscription with DTV and just watch BeIN Connect, ESPN3, etc. And then how will BeIN make money? As I noted many times, there is just no consistent pattern with these programmers. I wish someone would fly in from Qatar, clean house, and follow what they do in the Middle East: show games.
I have had it with Bein sports F##k ups and the no consistent pattern with programmers I just cant stand the 1 week we don't show this league and show something else or not showing a match just so they can show some Rugby game or something like that. What do they think o we be happy just to see a soccer game on TV that was the case mid 90s but not now today I Expect to be able to put on the TV and the match I want to watch will be on at some point and not just BS highlights. sad to say when i watch Bein sports i feel like when is the match over. i even not have chosen to watch little of the network. Back to the consistent pattern with programmers, i think leagues should look at this and not renew with the Channel or with the EPLs case stay away from the network. I bring up the EPL because i remember like 2 years ago Bein saying they want the EPL.
I genuinely have never watched a 90 in 30 or 60. It's either a full game or bust for me. And the whole thing tomorrow with having the 6:30am games available on beinsportsplay and not the channel...just weird, right? Infomercials doing that much revenue?
I think some of you just don't get it. BEIN is purchasing the rights to soccer leagues no one really cares about in the grand scheme of things. They are stepping up to the plate with cash when others just won't. Would you rather they just leave things alone and let it be like a Dutch League situation???? How's that working out Dutch League fans? Just because the schedule is not perfect every week or matches are on their streaming site does not mean they are doing things poorly. It just means the other Networks don't give a flying fig about soccer and BEIN have to juggle all these properties as orderly and as best as they can.
Given how many hours NBCSN spends on the EPL, including starting coverage 45 minutes before 7:45 A.M. starts and 60 minutes before other starts, I would think the EPL would be happy with NBCSN. Moving to BeIN also would prevent EPL games from ever being on broadcast NBC. The Saturday 12:30 P.M. EPL game, which is often on NBC, might not even be shown live on BeIN if BeIN had the rights to it and a Barcelona or Real Madrid game at 12:00 P.M. or 2:00 P.M.
With the amount of coverage beIN gives to the EPL now you'd think they covered them. I often see them giving more coverage in the news programs than they do leagues they currently show.
uh.. yes, it does. Maybe you're not getting it....have you read the complaints on this board and on facebook?
Uh, no it doesn't. Just cause people complain does not mean they are doing things poorly. As the great Abraham Lincoln said... ...You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time.
Ive been looking forward to the marseille- st etienne match all week. I am listening to Andres Cordero and Ian Joy call the action and its dampered my excitement. Since when is Cordero an announcer? Terrible. Oh and Bein needs to never use Matteo Bonetti as an announcer ever again. Hes the worst of them all. A complete clown. Matthew Spiro works for Ligue 1 he knows the league its his area of expertise and best of all bein doesnt have to pay him any additional fees to use his commentary, it comes with the package they already paid for. These idiots in Miami cost way too much even if they cost a dollar (plus transmission fees) its more than the expert commentary they can get for free.
Nice.. but he never said that - here is the real quote 'You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.' - which is apt with Bein Sport coverage.. there is a reason why so many people are complaining, it's because Bein Sport is doing a poor job.
What are you talking about? You just compared the Dutch League to La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, and the League Cup? That cash that they are stepping up with is actual cash and beating bidders like ESPN and Fox. I think I've said it before, though. Chromecast + availability of connect on my Cable provider + an archive of a few days would make this a monster as far as I'm concerned. A lot of people are rightfully frustrated that this is their 3rd year now and they are still making small-time rookie mistakes and have a brutally subpar cast of on-air talent.
yes you cant make every one happy but its not just 1 or 2 people complaining its 98% of the people that watch that are not happy that means they are not doing a good job.
I stand corrected when pertaining to the quote. BUT Just because people complain does not mean they are doing a poor job. I believe for the most part they are doing their best to juggle all these properties.
