This is what I found, for what it is worth of course

He also reports that this same group has been in talks with the NASL but things were put on hold when former Commissioner David Downs stepped down. Downs reported to IMS in early November that he was traveling to Sacramento for talks with a group about possible expansion plans for the league. Downs had previously stated that Sacremento was one of the towns where the NASL would like to expand. - See more at: http://www.insidemnsoccer.com/2012/...usl-conflict-heating-up/#sthash.akJmowYp.dpuf

    Okay.

Though you could throw a dart at a map of the US and be likely to hit a town that either Downs or Peterson has said they'd like to have.

They also said St. Louis (where they had no owner but were apparently attempting to shake one loose), but USL got there.

And nobody has gotten to San Diego. Yet.

The only thing I can think of is putting a max population limit on markets where USL Pro can go. The flip side of NASL minimum market size requirement.

It is a three year old league. Some of the teams may be older, but the motivations/aspirations/"plan" are only of a 3 year old league. (whatever the plan may be)

They are still making up lie after lies
    Just saw this forum
Does Bujar Gjata still live in the fantasy world ? Now he claims that he recruited an Albanian Fifa Agent and will go academy level ? Can't find Bejtullahu Fahredin listed.
Players' agents have not been licensed by FIFA since 2001. Players' agents are licensed directly by each association. Therefore, there is no such thing as a FIFA players' agent.
Am I looking at Bujar (DardaniaFc) now called "New York Force

Sac with the backing of the Kings would be able to afford the NASL if the MLS does not Pan out this time around. To get more of a presence in the West it will have to start with a commitment from one city. SAC could be that city.
FCE is the current furthest west but really a different region from SAC.
Now what other cities along the coast or in the great Northwest could come in as a second team I don't know.
If you look into Canada. The WhiteCaps appear to taking their USLPro to the outer skirts of Vancouver. Still leaving Victoria and the VI area with NASL as a option to move to the pro level. With a current veneau to use and adding another pro club to Canada. $$$ with travel will be issue of course. Popularity of the PDL Highlanders and the Academy are there. How much would the CSA get involved to help along more NASL clubs in Canada to where they can have a Canadian division.
Calgary also a city where it would make sense but more part of the FCE region. An ownerhip group in Flames LP could be interested. A venue would be needed. An Atlanta or SAC type complex could be possible. Land on the Dino's or Mount Royal Campus could be a possibilty with the inner city rivarly between the two Universities getting support from Flames LP.

(Also, the Canadian thing makes me laugh, especially given how many folks jumped on that rumor like a trove of leaked photos of Jennifer Lawrence.)

So basically the same thing they've been telling you for the last year? Seems just like yesterday that Tim McG was the savior with all the right connections and the Energy were stuck in a rinky dink high school stadium while OKCFC had a renovated Taft.

Time has a way of sorting all this stuff out. Funny.

Yep, especially when nothing has been settled yet. McL was seen as the money guy back then. Then he decided to stab people int he back who actually considered him a friend. Even up to the day that he was announced as part of the Energy ownership group his former friends had no idea that's what he was going to do, He told them that he was afraid of losing money and wanted to "get out of soccer".
If OKCFC gets the league approval that they expect at the BOG meeting here's what you'll have:
a NASL team playing at a new HS stadium that seats about 7500
A USL PRO team playing at a new HS stadium that seat about 7500.
It has been my prediction for a while that WHICHEVER team gets out of their HS stadium first will win. That's it.

    It's not a rumour.

I reported it and it was confirmed by the CSA that the discussions are happening. If you took the time to read the details of yesterday's USL-Pro sanctioning you'd understand that it was done with the purpose of ensuring that the NASL-Canada project would not be impacted.

The three USL-Pro teams are essentially going to be the three academy teams. They are required to have a 50% Canadian roster quota and start 6 of 11 Canadians each game. They are development teams that have zero to do with NASL expansion in Canada. In fact further USL-Pro expansion is banned by the CSA beyond the existing MLS sides putting reserve/academy teams inside their own market.

But, you know, it's all lies and you know better than those of us on the ground up here. Either or, really.

Was anyone actually expecting different with regards to Virginia? They were already written off.
OKC...who the hell knows, but it ain't looking good.

Jax looks like they are doing it right. Real reason for optimism there.

Which is not for another few years.

They're at 10 now. Jacksonville (solid, as you say, apparently, though they still don't have a lease on their preferred venue) makes 11.

There have been no other announcements and it's getting really late to get someone in for 2015 unless you poach somebody (which may not even be humanly possible - contractually it would not appear to be possible to poach a USL Pro team), so either OKC actually does play to make it 12 or they go with 11, which gives you another challenging scheduling situation.

Of course, Fath could just pack it in at that point and you'd be back to 10.

So it looks like either 10 (least likely), 11 (most likely) or 12 teams (possible) for 2015.

Somebody's going to have to come out of the woodwork soon if they're going to start getting towards the 16 Peterson keeps talking about.

I wasn't talking about that one, Blog Boy.

Maybe you should take the time to read. Just saying.

The "Canadian thing that made me laugh" was Peterson shutting down the original report of an all-Canadian adjunct NASL league.

    Yawn.

Don't claim to know a thing about USL Pro team sanctioning in Canada. Not a thing.

What I do know is that people lost their minds at the erroneous report of an all-Canadian DII league that would align with the NASL. Which is specifically what I was referring to.

I would take Sacramento and probably Cincinnati off your list. Otherwise, sure why not.
