Well were do you begin after watching that car crash display. From the team announcement, it was clear to everyone that Martinez was doing his now annual tinkering against Palace, once again trying to take the piss out of them & in a nutshell taking them lightly. When will he learn that he isn't Mourinho, he is bang average manager who occasionally hits on a system that works (mainly down to players making it work rather than his system). howard's head seems to have been turned by that historic 18 saves.... maybe this is the kick up the pants he needs to get back to business and not being too cocky... just the right amount to be a badass keeper. I hate to say this, but i think it's Distin and his age catching up... when stones and jags played in CB positions together, look at how much better we played. I think jags/baines are left scrambling to cover and with howard not communicating/trying too be too all-masterful it didn't work. I was worried when they hired martinez, and i gave him credit for an amazing season, but right now it looks like it was could have been a fluke.... maybe Moyes solid defense was still in place and now it's been destroyed by whatever tactics RM is telling them to use... it's kinda sad.... and kinda "everton"
