Can't stand the fact when someone backs up what they have said.

    What is Donovan saying ObiWan?

In my opinion Landon will always be what might have been.

He played it safe and stayed in MLS.

Should have gone to Europe FULL TIME. If he had, no telling how good he could have been.

Why don't you find the 12 days quote if you want to back yourself up.

He could have been far and away the GOAT for USMNT?

No. He would have been a far better player had he chosen a career in Europe.

    Instead he stayed in MLS.

Given the way these vultures pounce on any bit of ambiguity to try to justify this insane decision, expect to hear it another 50 or so times.

And now we have the actual issue for you. You're pissed that Landon didn't fulfill your fantasy of having an elite American playing in a top European league, so you're happy to see him cut from the USMNT.

You are right. I didn't remember correctly.

However it shows Donovan was not ready for Brazil.

    He is over the hill.

    Absolutely not.

I was disappointed in him being cut.

It was the right decision though.

He was not mentally ready to play by his comments. Or, physically either.

Yes or no question here...do you think Landon would have outplayed Brad Davis?

This is mostly right. The one element missing is, if Bradley had played as a #8 instead of a #10, maybe that would have made a very real, and noticeable, difference in our level of play.

What would be your analysis of his performance in Major League Soccer since the World Cup?

When you put it that way, it's hard to argue. There was no room on this World Cup squad for players that weren't ready to compete at a grueling pace game after game.

The last thing you want is to have to waste a sub in a crucial elimination game because a player is too over the hill to go on.

Yep, totally right decision. Just for fun, though, here's Donovan burning Marvel Wynne to get the winning goal against Colorado at altitude in his 2nd full 90 in 4 days.

    He has been ok.

Not good enough for a decent EPL side though.

    It WAS the right decision.

Those injuries could have happened to Landon as well.

Landon's head was not into the WC.

    See the quotes provided.

I doubt it would've happened to Landon; he's too lazy to even push himself hard enough to get injured, unlike Altidore who had the guts to go to Europe.

Yes, Landon Donovan has managed to get his head fully into a Gold Cup in 2013 and into his stretch run in his last MLS season in 2014, making a push for the MVP award, but in between he wouldn't have been able to get his head into the World Cup because, uh, er, wha?

Do you seriously believe what you're typing or did you take an extra dose of troll pills this morning?

A Gold Cup where not every nation (the US included) brought their best players.

It's pretty obvious at this point that he's just trying to piss people off. Hopefully he'll be banned soon, but until then, he's ignore list fodder.
