Its more hope than anything.

Guardado is our undisputed second best option (next to HH) in this formation, he's decent in defense and has a good shoot. That said, he's mediocre in distributing.

Jona is a x factor, maybe he's amazing, maybe he isn't. He looked good in his few NT and Barca appearances. Anyone who saw him in Barca B will also tell you that he was great. That one game vs Columbia showed better distribution than every game Guardado has played. I don't know if he'd live up to his highlights but we have no one else to look forward to.

If we ever go back to four at the back and need just a pivot/distributor, Jona might be our man.
