So Frontzeck issues an ultimatum to give him a contract extension NOW and does he get what he wants? Was he trying to force his way out or did he really think they would give him a new contract? What are the German papers saying ... that Stanislawski is waiting in the wings ... again? I don't think the new coach "effect" had anything to do with the win against Cottbus. They are just a bad team.
St. Pauli and Hannover 96 played to a 2-2 draw in a test match in the Günther-Volker Stadium in Celle. Lennart Thy and Markus Thorandt scored the goals.
How can you dislike St. Pauli? I thought it was everyone's 2nd favorite team (except that of HSV fans obviously). Anyways, they are my 2nd favorite team so it's nice to see a dedicated thread to them
They are mostly liked by people who aren't all that much into football, though - and loathed by fans of many, many clubs. St. Pauli fans will say those other fans are all Nazis and all. Which is part of the reason why they are hated in the first place (the holier-than-thou attitude, the ultra-commercialized brand of pseudo-anti-commercialization etc.).
2-0 win over Erzgebirge Aue on Friday (Dec 6). Stunning volley goal by Fin Bartels in the 8th minute. Was set up by Buchtmann, with a long ball pass into the scoring area. Bartels later assisted to Michael Gregoritsch on his first career Bundesliga goal.
Good come from behind effort today against SV Sandhausen to take the victory 3-2. LB Marcel Halstenberg played a part in all 3 goals. Assisting on the first 2 goals, including a well placed cross ahead to the opposite wing for the 2nd goal on a nice volley. On the 3rd, he was able to drive the ball forward deep again on the flank. His cross has blocked but bounced to Rzatkowski who scored the winner. With Paderborn losing on Friday, St. Pauli pulls within 3 points for the 3rd spot on table in the promotion race.
Sky commentators at their best: 'Welcome to St. Pauli, the house of pleasure (Freudenhaus) of the 2nd Bundesliga.'
Hello -- I would love to attend the St Pauli match Vs Berlin on Saturday Oct 4. My wife and I are celebrating our anniversary. I went to the website, but it said they were not selling ticket online. I figured this is a match in high demand. I emailed the club asking how to buy tickets, but was wondering if anyone else had some info. I thank you for your help -- It is much appreciated
Tickets for the games against Braunschweig and Union Berlin are not on sale for the general public, only club members and those who have bought tickets for at least one home game since the beginning of last season can apply. I am pretty sure this is to prevent fans of those clubs from getting tickets.
