i was wondering what everyones hardest conditioning drills were that they do. heres one we do at practice called 6up 6 down say that the touch line is divided at the half to equal 2 and the goalline/ endline is one we have to jog one, then sprint one, jog one, sprint 2 up to 6 and then go back down i realized how out of shape i was when i did it yesterday but i was better today
I'd say I have a least favourite... but the truth is, I LOVE being pushed like that (ie: sprinting up stairs/suicides/etc.).
Gorilla sprints Going around the field you go for 12 minutes. jog the first 4 then full out spring for 30 seconds then jog for 20 seconds for 4 minutes then a 4 min cool down. Dosent sound hard but run it and it is. -justin
ya for american football i hated it before we did it and while it was going on, but afterwards i would be happy and actually enjoy it.
The square from hell. its like doing suicides on a field with about 30 cones surrounding it then we have to do it backwards.
terrible 20 you do 20 pushups at one sideline then sprint to the other, then do 20 sit ups at the other sideline then sprint to the other, then do 19 pushups at the other sideline, sprint to the other side... you get the picture real, real bad
my least favorite is 10 1000's that we have to do at 7 in the morning during daily doubles..and you have to run through really thick grass..and the mosquitos are horrible...i swear somebody is going to get west nile
I hate the four corners ting when you spring one side of the perimeter and then jog three, and then go all the way until you have sprinted the whole thing 3 or 4 times. I also hate the beep test.
jogging the sidelines then sprinting the endlines sounds easy if it was printing the sidelines jogging the endlines sounds a lot worse but i hate running
I hate doin two laps in under two minutes...and if only one person doesnt make, hafta do it all over agian till everybody does. Or 100yd sprints up and down the field 10 times.
Sprint Test: Its starts nice and easy and then progresses to the next. 22 20 yard sprints with 20 seconds of rest 20 40 yard sprints with 30 seconds of rest 18 60 yard sprints with 40 seconds of rest 14 80 yard sprints with 50 seconds of rest 12 100 yard sprints with 60 seconds of rest. It doesn't sound like much, but during a very humid August in Norfolk, VA, it sucked and everyone dreaded it. What sucked even more is that you had to train for it during the summertime because our coach (Ralph Perez) watched and kept track of any slackers.
