Clev has always been a pain... Now he wants his bag of gold by moving on a free transfer.. I dont think he is going to have any suitors by that time..

    Yep.

Finally, good riddance to mediocre midfield players.

I think getting so many new players coming in will take a little time...but, I'd also like to think it takes a little pressure off of them. Rather than being "I'm the new guy, they are all waiting for me to do something" it'll help them relax knowing they are almost a new team.

According to the Arsenal boards, they only have 6 first team defenders?? Surely that can't be true. That's insane if so.

It is not madness. It is the Arsenal boards.

I'm not bothered by the Falcao loan if he's healthy. I don't mind having as many elite strikers as possible, because they can carry you to a title when the rest of the squad isn't clicking (see RVP two years ago). The issue, instead, is a lack of vision and an odd commitment to a formation that doesn't maximize our talent. To win a title, the base talent level still needs to be upgraded (and had we spent more wisely it could've been done with this year's budget), but if we were less committed to Mata (less so Rooney since he can be a functional wide forward even if he'd be a grossly overpaid one). We certainly have enough young talent in the defense to field a pacy if sometimes undisciplined back 4. I like Carrick and Herrera as two parts of a midfield trio. There's a missing piece there (ADM really should be wide) and we're missing another WF.

The bigger problem is that they are all too young or too mediocre.

They probably have an 18 year old who is going to be the next nesta or maldini.

I don't really blame Cleverley. He's been told he isn't wanted. He's on his last year of his contract. If he thinks he could be getting a much bigger 4 year financial deal next year...why shouldn't he do that. If we've told him to feck off....why should he rush his decision. He said he'd join for a specific wage..they said no, he thinks he can get better next year. So be it.

That is absolutely true. Fair play to him. Given Carrick aging, Ando being unreliable, and Fletch looking poor, he may still get games here and there too. It is what it is.

That's the list. Apparently Wenger believes Monreal can also play CB, as well as Flamini in a pinch. Also Hector Bellerin could come up from the reserves and perform admirably at right back. Hell, we even sold one of our reserve centerbacks (Miquel) to Norwich today.

    Old man is losing it.
