So you have no expectation for players to improve? I guess you were one of the ones that wrote off Ramsey, schez in previous seasons and were slagging on jack 10 mins in the game? How about simply play better? How is that any of your adjectives?
Most fans only care about right now. They act like they have more insight than the coaches but they would wheel and deal players like they were cards. Coaches are required to build teams that last for more than a few weeks.
if only you could say "just play better" and it would magically increase 27 year old Giroud's pace and improve his finishing. Or bring back 32 year old Arteta's legs. Its good to have faith in players and hope they step but its putting the season down to hope. Players have limitations, thats just how it is. Campbell and Sanogo are young, developing, and still mostly potential. You cant just "hope they step up" and bear the weight of any sort of serious title challenge or CL challenge. Thats a shit way of excusing a lack of transfer activity.
And bringing a player in doesn't guarantee anything either. Anyone remember a short Russian dude? Im not excusing a "lack of transfer activity" because frankly 1. The window isn't over 2. Most holes have been surprisingly filled. Yes I want a dm and a striker but that's letting players off the hook as well for poor performances or not talking advantage of the opportunities presented (Sonogo).
would you overpay (in comparison to your valuation) for him? for me, (based on what i have read about him) i think i would. the described qualities feels like it is exactly what (i feel like) we need and he could very well be the difference between how far into CL we get and our final placement at the end of the premiership season.
According to different sources in France, Arsenal is chasing Adrien Rabiot. The player himself is pushing to leave PSG (His contract ends in 2015) and it inclined to join the Gunners. The club is offerring 10 M Euros to PSG for the player.
I've suspected for a few weeks that this is where we'll end up at this position, and I also suspect it might be the best option as well. Carvalho is well-regarded by Sporting, and I'd be happy to have him if he comes, but there's been a pretty strong trend in football against Makelele-style destroyers and Wenger in particular has not bought that kind of player even though he's had multiple opportunities to do it. With Rabiot, we get less strength, more speed, and better passing ability. Height is about a wash. So even though Rabiot is younger, there's a decent chance that he'll integrate faster. He might also have higher upside than Carvalho. He's definitely a player we'll have to carry a rabbit's foot for, but I think there's justification for it in his case.
Zigic, welbeck are all smokescreens! Khadiera, pogba and cavani to sign tomorrow. You heard it here first. Follow me on twitter @LoveToTrollTheShitOuttaGunners for more info!
If only we have a full team of players that were all in their prime and we didn't have to worry about the future at all or club chemistry or leadership. I seem to remember United doing pretty well with a 100 year old Welshman playing significant minutes every year. There are no perfect players. Replace Giroud with some other striker and people will find reasons to criticize him because this is the Premiership and it is almost impossible to stay in form for an entire season. Lusting after the neighbor's wife is fun to do but the reality is that he's dealing with the same shit with her as you are with yours.
Honestly, I would like the Rabiot signing myself. Someone to take over for Arteta, while not completely replacing him now. He's still a mentor to the younger guys, the captain, and I still want him to at least play SOME games. Plus, our strength is quick moving and passing, and don't want that to be compromised. This Rabiot seems like he can be the one to do that more than Carvalho.
Wasn't sure where to put this, but Almunia is forced to retire with a heart condition. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-retires-from-football-due-to-heart-condition
Look at how few 90s he played in comparison to the others. There is a reason for that, and on top of that, the sub factor inflates those numbers. Understand the research before you make yourself look bad.
Yeah we've had a go at him when he was at Arsenal, but that's just horrible news. Best wishes to him.
admittedly ...i know nothing about him what are your thoughts?....might be too young to feature as a regular anchor in mf?
