I'd rather Red Bull put all their stock into this game rather than Montreal, but I know management treasures MLS Cup more than the Champions League.

The turnaround is simply too quick to expect a strong squad for this match. My guess would be half regulars and half bench guys.

    Prediction: 1-1

Well Bustamante is now out for the year with an ACL tear, which sucks because I'd guess he was Dax's cover for the CCL games. Maybe they'll call Lade or Christianson back from loan?

Well, that will not be all, Henry will not play with two day rest, so Perinelli and Saer are ready to start, are not they?.....

Its tough to say, Petke hasn't given any indication of how strong of a team he's gonna put out there, but what little we've heard so far makes it seem like it'll be a mostly reserve squad. Sene should definitely be able to play, not so sure if Perinelli is in shape yet. My wild guess:

    -------Sene---Peguy------
    Obekop-Alexander-Bover
    ----------Sekagya---------
    Oyongo-Miazga-Olave-Kimura
    ----------Meara-----------

I heard P is not in game shape but Sene will start though.

I'm going to Red Bull Arena for the first time to see this game.

Fios doesn't offer Fox Sports 2 in HD. The game will also be on Univision Deportes in Spanish.

The Bet365 odds result in these probabilities:

    Red Bulls win: 82.2%
    Draw: 13.4%
    FAS win: 4.5%

The sum is 100.1% due to rounding.

I think this lineup could do the job, but who knows what Petke puts out there. I think playing mostly second team guys this match is a good idea since we are still in 5th in the east. If we don't win this game then first teamers play the next champions league game. The other guys on the team need to earn their paychecks tomorrow and get us the win at home

I think that's a good lineup although I wouldn't want to have Olave and Sekagya(especially olave) in the lineup. I'd like for Stevensen to get a crack too.

Yeah I believe Petke already suggested that neither Henry or Olave will play, and that Kimura (hamstring) and Convey (mystery illness) won't be in the 18 either.

Stevenson could definitely get a shot, there was the one report of him impressing in training but haven't heard much since then.

Petke took the game seriously and we got the win. All they need to do now is take care of Montreal essentially.

Sene and Cahill ended up creating a bevy of chances and it resulted in just two goals. Overall not a bad performance from a decidedly second choice lineup. I was really happy to see Meara out there shaking the rust off, the kid is seriously talented. Perinelle was fine for his first match and Stevenson looked good in his sub shift. The rest, well, let's hope for some good results on the road against Montreal and FAS because they can do better.

You can tell how dangerous Sene could be if healthy and sharp, but he's lookin a bit rusty now. He did well on the goal, and its nice to have another guy who can carry the ball up field quickly aside from Sam and Henry. Sene's a big, quick player. He couldn't adjust in time for the open net on one play, and spaced out on making an easy run onto a brilliant Miller cross on another, but those are plays that you'd think he'd start to make after some more time with the team. So far, this transfer for Akpan feels like a win.

Cahill is a true leader and warrior. Did not finish but boy id he play hard with only 2 days rest. Sene looks awkward, stiff and off balance and slow so far to me. Not crazy about Perinnelle as looks a little slow as well. Oyongo is a real upcoming player, almost like a left sided future sam. Meara sure was aggresive last night, sometimes maybe a little too but real happy to se him get a chance again.

Lot of great chances went over the crossbar. Could've had more goals in this one.

Cahill was unlucky not to score, thought he played better than people have been giving him credit for. Lots of smart runs in the box, and I don't think that keeper had any idea what he was doing on the point blank save.

Folks might want to get used to the idea that Oyongo will leave for greener pastures within the next year. With his combination of skill and speed (I never realized just how fast he was until last night), he's a player who will be in demand. And getting called up for the Cameroon National Team (he has already played at the U-20 level) will raise his profile even further. I'd give it until next summer, but clubs will come calling.

The Red Bulls had more shots on target, 6 to 3, according to MLS. My dad thought Richard Eckersley played well.

Who would you say are the Red Bulls Best 11 excluding injured players? Out of last night's starters I would say Miller, Cahill, Sam, and Alexander are starters. Out of last night's bench and players not in the 18 I would say McCarty, Robles, Wright-Phillips, Henry, and Olave are starters. That leaves room for 2 more starters.

What percent of the parking spots are on gravel? My family parked in between Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard, Pete Higgins Boulevard, Guyon Drive, and Riverbend Drive. The Red Bulls website has a map of the area that doesn't include Riverbend Drive.

So with the result last night, NY are in very good position to advance. Montreal, despite winning both its matches against CD FAS have to go up against the stiffer competition of the Red Bulls, a team that regularly pounds on them for multi-goal wins. And in this group, goal differential could the key. The Red Bulls have equaled Montreal’s goal differential with their one win against FAS and would need to win just one goal to jump ahead in the standings. In the meantime the will play up at Montreal can take control of the group with a win in Quebec.

The Red Bulls CL schedule is as follows:

New York will play at group leader Montreal Impact (2-0-0, six) on September 17, while the FAS will have to wait until September 24 to host the Red Bulls in its final match.

I was disappointed that Fox Sports relegated this game to its second channel. On Fios FS2 isnt even available in HD. Regarding the game itself, the Red Bull benchers acquitted themselves quite nicely. It was a good showing for the team, but it was only the first game of the group stage--let's see where this goes.

I also think Eck also did pl;ay well like your Dad. He had good touches though out of position a few times.

Finally a game where the ref didn't hand Amando a yellow card for looking at the ball too hard.

We possessed well, but finished like crap. Glad we won by two, and I'm liking the two new signings (given that they both are not game fit, and it shows.) I hate to say this because I really like Johnny Steele, but our left side attack is better and faster now.
