I think we would be in trouble if we qualified for Europa League , we're better off finishing 7th in the League and 4th in our CL goup, might have a chance at CL football the year after if we avoid EL.
I honestly think we'll fight for relegation if we don't dodge the 3rd group stages spot in UCL. EL is too taxing.
BREAKING NEWS: Reports from Greece that Roma have met the demands of Olympiacos (14-15m EUR) and agreed terms with Kostas Manolas himself— Greek Football (@greekfooty) August 25, 2014 Manolas is expected to join Roma tonight or tomorrow and will be the replacement for Benatia who was sold for double the money to Bayern— Greek Football (@greekfooty) August 25, 2014 The reports about Manolas-Roma are reliable (Sport FM-most popular sports radio in Greece) unlike those from abroad about an Arsenal medical— Greek Football (@greekfooty) August 25, 2014 Unlike the Manolas-Roma story which is VERY reliable, the Mitroglou Milan and Napoli stories are just rumors and I cannot confirm them— Greek Football (@greekfooty) August 25, 2014 Manolas update: Have just been told by a source that there is continuous communication between Piraeus and Rome and that the transfer >>>— Greek Football (@greekfooty) August 25, 2014 https://twitter.com/greekfooty/status/504000535289401345 Hmmm
I really do hope we get Manolas. I think @reality7 has gone a bit deep on the adjectives for him but I agree with him that he is a massive talent. The only annoying part of this is that we were heavily linked with him a couple of years ago on a free transfer but we picked up Heinze instead.
You can see Manolas' pace in these two videos. He keeps up and then beautifully wins possession from Ibrabo in this one at 00:52 and then at 03:03 he keeps pace with Gervinho... In this one at 00:55 he catches up with RVP after he dives in ...
Oh wow. That one stings. Silver lining: he wasn't thrown to the wolves (no pun intended) because it could have ruined him to play in a squad like that and shatter his psyche. That or we already sold him if he showed promise.
That's called delaying the inevitable. heavy doses of tongue in cheek were used in the creation of this post.
Seems like Manolas is pretty much done. Watched a dozen games of him. Reminds me a lot of Roberto Ayala.
