And they're all dead. You can't accomplish anything if you can't be sustainable as a business. Two Finals appearances in the second division, one title, one time out of the group stage in Champions League. Blue line - average attendance (2012 at temp facility for most games) Red - Division II league performance Green - CONCACAF Champions League performance
That graph looks like MLS from 1996-2002. Point taken Kenn, I wasn't saying PR was a great success story but they accomplished more and lasted longer than the other PDL/whatever teams.
It is a shame. The Islanders were something special. But, few knew how much they relied on government sponsorship. With the current PR economy, the sponsorship could not last. I regret the expenditure on JRL stadium. It looked great when finished. Yet that was a lot of money spent for a few games. While I also lament the time spent playing games at the Bayamon Soccer Complex, I don't think the poor attendance there was the final straw. The change in administration at the Governor's office ended the Islanders' run.

I believe Andy will do all he can to rejuvenate the team. But, as he said in the article, he needs help from the Commonwealth. I'm not sure that will be forth coming. I will be praying for the best and preparing for the worst. Viva Los Islanders!!

"San Juan, Puerto Rico The news of the possible return of the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League (NASL) has been taken with caution for several people linked to the league." What news? What news of the possible return of the Islanders?

That was from August 21, around the same time as the other one. Said they had to schedule a meeting with Peterson the next week. I believe Peterson has said in the month since then that there was no positive news to report.
