My point isn't about me. There were a ton of people in and outside the forum who didn't think James fit our needs because he was too attacking. That was the forum's popular opinion.

    e. Just make him honor his contract :D , it runs till 2018 , he can't keep on getting bad seasons as it will totally ruin his reputation , infact he has to play at a similar / better level if he were to draw interest even after last season , so it should work out fine for us .

Most of the teams we will face will play with a parked bus. Like last night. We don't need a defensive midfielder. Xabi-Modric-Kross midfield does not work. None of these players make any runs or drive forward with the ball. They all like to pass and pass and pass. All similar players. Do you really think a gattuso type player would have helped last night? There is no need for a destroyer in most matches.

We need a player like Di Maria in the midfield. There is a reason clubs are prepared to offer ludicrous amounts of money for him. He is unique.

Luka Modric just renewed his contract. And he didn't need to say he wasn't sure about his future during WC :rolleyes:

I would gladly sub Xabi - who should not be a starter this season, but still its not just midfield. In such layout against such opponent you must have lively front three players who contribute in developing a play - which was not the case yesterday. You cannot play properly if "striker" is on a vacation and second biggest star in the team has problems with ball control and especially being imprecise while passing.

Put Xabi out and put Illarra / Isco in, James instead of Cronaldo - for him to heal properly and Di Maria instead of Bale - who needs reality check ASAP. As for Benzema... fckin epic lol... if this was movie this guy would be the biggest comedy star by far. Just get rid of him.

Because Luka doesn't sell himself to the highest bidder/paycheck and actually wants to be in Madrid.

Falcao....please sign him already. It even sounds like now he's willing to take a pay cut. That's a cry of "come get me!" Flo.

I do not trust CR7 with these niggling issues with his knee and he needs to slow down regardless of how much he wants to play.

Benzema for all the good he does do isn't enough for this team anymore. We need another bloody foward. Hell I'd go as far to say that it would help Benz as he likes to start his attacks from the wings anyway. He plays better with a true number 9 (ala France with Giroud upfront). So while CR7 sits a bit a front line of Benz-Falcao-Bale would work. BBC to BFB (or BBF...whatever).

Di Maria is great, but it's time to cash in on him (€65+m would do) which will free up a rotation for James and Isco in the AM spot. However, seeing as Khedira is on his way out do we replace him too or stick with a Alonso/Illarremendi rotation for that DM role?

We need a new striker irrespective of Benzema's shortcomings against Atléti. If he gets injured or loses form, which he is prone to doing, then we have no alternative on the bench. If centre-backs are dominating Benzema as a lone striker then they'll eat up and spit out the likes of James and Isco if we are going to play them there. A pity Negredo broke his foot as City need to sell and he's familiar with the league.

No he does not. Thus he did not ask for a Galactico pay check.

Negredo wasn't willing to sit on our bench 4-5 years ago, I'm sure he wouldn't jump at the opportunity now either.

At that time he was behind Raúl, Benzema, Higuain and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. With only Benzema ahead of him and hopefully a lot of games to come then he would get ample playing time here.

I agree with you on this. Yesterday was a prime example of a team who parked the bus, airplane and all of their cars in front of the net. Teams are scared of Madrid now, you can see it. That's what they resort to and a lot of times, parking the bus works...

Carlo needs to understand that Xabi has lost it... He's so far off his prime and makes a LOT of mistakes in midfield. He literally gives the ball away to the opposite team and takes ridiculous and stupid yellow cards all the time.

Our backbone of our midfield is the duo of Modric & Kroos who dictate the ball in the midfield, passing and creating space. We need a more advanced type of midfielder like Di Maria who will make those runs and penetrate the other half. I hope we don't sell him, the crowd was really cheering him on yesterday.

-Cristiano and Ramos, two of the most influential figures in the dressing room, have personally urged Pérez not to sell Di Maria.
Ancelotti intends to keep making use of Di Maria while he's still at the club.

-Angel di Maria has a big-money offer on the table from Manchester United.
Everything points towards Di María leaving Real Madrid before the transfer window closes [Marca]

Both James and Iker have publicly said that they want Di Maria to stay as well. But we certainly aren't LOOKING to sell him, so it doesn't matter. If he gets a massive wage increase somewhere else, that team meets our valuation of him, and he wants to go, then he will go. It appears that this will happen. But we are certainly content with him staying on his current contract as well.

Khedira is different. Pretty clear we want him out.

So Modric gets a raise but Di Maria does not. Looks like Perez wants to cash in on Di Maria. It's normal for a player to ask for a raise after smashing the assists table in all of Europe. We can't demonise him for that. He is one of the poorest paid elite players in football.

He obviously deserves a pay raise... The fans appreciate him, the Bernabeu was clearly throwing their support behind him, the whole world knows how good he is. Give him some more money and be done with it. He's a part of this team he has gone through the ups & downs over the past few years, I hope he stays.

Benzema, Cristiano and Bale "The BBC" all on long-term contracts and fixed starters. We just signed James and Kroos this summer (both earning substantial wages) and we've now just renewed Luka until 2018. If we're going to keep Angel we need to pay him a whopping 8 million. So that means that we would have, in my opinion, 2 players in the top tier of wages on the bench for every match day. I know everyone goes on about "it's not your money" but I think we should only hand out the highest salaries to your clutch players. I'm not disputing for one second that Angel isn't one but the problem is that we have too many players on big contracts. When you bring in 3 stars in 12 months then it's easier to get rid of the guy who's been here for 4 years.

If Carlo really wants Angel to stay then great....but then we're left with yet another £65 million problem.

Obviously a lot of us speaking from pure emotion in relation to this matter. These financial implications are important to consider too. It would be nice to some how, some way find a way to keep him.

This is Perez's doing, DiMaria has nothing to do with Perez prioritizing a shiny toy who doesn't fit over one of our best and most creative players.

If I was DiMaria I wouldn't settle for less money either.

We offered him a raise. He supposedly wants more than what we are willing to pay. What would you like the club to do?

RM & Di Maria should meet half way maybe... RM wants 5, Di Maria wants 8... How about 6.5 after taxes and be done with it? Basic negotiation tactics where both sides feel happy.

Then he can join the other peseteros at a club where all the players only put the shirt on because of the money they can earn. If all that matters to Di Maria is comparing how much he could earn at Real Madrid compared to PSG, then he can go and join them for all i care, just make sure they bring the money the club wants.

    The idea is pretty simple:

We made an offer to improve his contract.
He doesn't agree with it and wants about twice as much.

Solution: Either bring us the money the club wants for you, or you stay here and play for a lot less than we offered.

    Pretty easy.
