That's okay, you didn't miss much I'm sure the NASL fanboys will be along any time now to fill you in
No, I'm not. check post 8109 which addresses the whole reason JLeague was introduced into this argument. I'm definitely not being obstinate. Obtuse? I don't even what that means here.
[QUOTE="OpenCupFan, post: Obtuse? I don't even what that means here.[/QUOTE] Your response is the very definition of what he was saying. Absolutely classic.
The Deacon, after watching a bit of RSL take on Seattle, has decided he could see no discernible strategy. Funny he couldn't explain the strategy in the NASL when he was asked point blank on here.
Trying to watching the Cosmos and the Rowdies on the amazing ESPN3. Camera work is making me nauseous. Kits barely clash. Lots of hard tackles. Long balls everywhere. Cement-like first touches. Oh my god this camera work is miserable. Do they not know how to pan smoothly? Or is it that hard to sit wide and not zoom in constantly? Lots of empty seats for this historic rivalry.
The crowd that is there seems to be into it all right. Yeah, the camera work is pretty sketchy. Probably a new guy; gotta learn somewhere. Too many close ups, which forces him to move the camera quickly.
I had to turn it off. I know I'm bad with getting motion sickness, but that was unwatchable. And the game wasn't that good, especially with all the other games I've got on TV and MLS Live.
ESPN hates soccer. Was really hoping TB would take a step up crowd wise this season. I'll wait for the official number. Saw your post in NASL forum. Over 4K is solid.
Feed was kinda shitty when I was watching, but I didn't last long. Shitty camerawork is on the Rowdies, though.
But only MLS resorts to long balls and hard tackles. Clearly, ESPN paid the players on both teams to play kick-and-chase for a game to make the league look bad compared to MLS.
I can only assume he was talking about the Sounders? RSL had a pretty clear strategy in that game and they ran roughshod over the Sounders until they scored the second goal. ah.. This explains.
Not at this point it's not. Not for a supposed nostalgic rivalry game that drew almost twice that last year. The Cosmos are Just Another Club now.
I had been hoping for a bit more from TB but it's still fine. Even the most ignorant, obtuse and delusional Cosmos fans don't claim anything close anymore, and we have mocked them to boredom IMO. There comes a point where engaging a brick wall is on the engager, amd fanatsy is left for movies. I'll have my fun when bored or they do say something obscenley dumb, thank goodness a coulw of them are vood for that, but it is yawn time for the most part. Any average over 4K is good, and 5K was my hope/goal. Hoping they can get there.
Yeah, but 4k isn't going to make them a viable threat to MLS' D1 status, or make a compelling case for the prawns' wet dreams. The bar is on its way up. Those satisfied with 4k are going to be left behind. Especially since we were told the NASL was going to do D2 better than it had ever been done before, and the supporters wrote Sunil to tell him they had never felt a connection like this before.
LOL....there really was a Sunil letter? Awesome. Well, we know D1 ain't happening, and I am still in "let's continue stability mode" considering past history in lower leagues. My goodness...a letter. What yahoos. TBH, I wish we had a million more like them in this country.
yeah the only way the cosmos get into MLS now IMVHO is if Red Bull abandons MLS and Metro (or whoever buys the jersey skitzos) rebrands them as the cosmos.
Did you miss that? It was epic. Here you go. Make sure you have some piano music playing softly in the background. And then read not-Sunil's response.
WSW Says: February 2nd, 2011 at 9:40 pm NASL will get sanctioned and you will have to eat those words. server error 404….. Good old white star warrior.
I didn't really have any doubt that the NASL would get sanctioned - USSF wasn't likely to just open up a situation where they had no D2 league or a rogue league. I just think they wanted to put the fear of God in them. And it was effective.
Did anyone else forget about this kid? Anyway, looks like he's more interested with playing for Vancouver. http://www.soccerwire.com/news/leag...uver-in-new-york-cosmos-whitecaps-tug-of-war/
Philadelphia signed a new 5yr agreement with Bimbo, worth more than $2mil/yr. Clearly this is a sign of the imminent collapse of MLS.
