I never thought I'd say this, but I hope messi tears it up. I'm so tired of Germany benefiting from the perfect circumstances and constantly moving on. Hopefully FIFA has had enough of treating teams favourably and throws them into a difficult situation next world cup, instead of gifting them a path to the semis

 

Err, what? Portugal, Ghana and USA were all probably top 15-20 teams. Algeria was the 1st or second best African team, France probably in the top 5 overall. How was that an easy path? You think Argentina's path was harder? Bosnia, Iran, Nigeria, Switzerland and Belgium?

 

If Italian football is in shambles, but yet still superior to Portugal's, where does that leaves the state of Portugal's game? Italy were lousy in this WC, but they are two years removed from the European Championship final; and have multiple trophies. Portugal is a minnow--they never won anything.

 

Get used to resting on your laurels cause the Italian trophy case will be as is for awhile... Your league needs oil money to survive

Our time will come, we have consistently been producing better individual talent than Italy for the past 5-6 years, all we need is a good manager to tie it all together with the right selection.

An argument could be made that liga sagres is in better shape right now than Italian soccer. No one wants to play in seriea. I wouldn't even go there if I were you

???? .... they had arguably the toughest group of all this world cup.... the only advantage was that that is traditionally given to the host nation's path to the final, which is the extra days rest before the final... but as they had to beat Brazil in their own backyard, fair play to them. Also last wc, they had arguably the toughest path of all the semifinalists... a group containing Ghana, Australia, Serbia and then had to play England, Argentina before eventually losing to Spain in the semis... I don't know how the Germans have had it easy, they maybe make it look that way by staying cool and clinical...

 

In the end, the best team of the tournament won the tournament. Case closed

Well I picked Argentina to win the WC seems like my pick just fell slightly short. A lot of people laughed at me and said no way with that weak defense but in reality it was the defense who carried them to the final. The fantastic four of messi, di Maria, hiugan and Augero were disappointed especially past the QF. Congrats to Germany they deserved it truly the best team in the world.
