Elber said Germany cause Argentina winning on Brazilian soil was much, much worse. Worst case, actually. Tells you a lot if you can forget about 7-1 so fast. Another 1986? It was a wonder we even got there. Beckenbauer said it right: we didnt deserve it cause we were just a good team. But not world class. So this will be another 1990? With Maradona(Messi) taken out of the game, us creating chance after chance while they are hoping for penalties?
Actually it's rather funny that where the desire/hope was for Messi to emulate Maradona's 1986 exploits, the way Argentina have played in Brazil is far, far more reminiscent of their Italia '90 tournament.
its facking amazing.. just look at all the games they played .. 1) against B&H won because of an own goal. 2) they had no business winning against iran, PK wasnt not called for Iran. 3) Nigeria LOL .. have anyone even saw that game ? 4) Switzerland, had no business scoring a goal. pure luck. 5) Belgium , had no business wining 6) Netherlands , didnt watch because i was sleeping the entire game... They remind me of Germany 2002. we got to the final in that year, but we had no facking business being there and got schooled once we faced a team that knew what they were doing.
Finals are always 50/50 but I can deal with that. Have to avoid myself going to their forum though after receiving some warnings by their mods for literally nothing but correct some of their nonsens in 2010. I also still can't get over 2006 and their damn poor egos and sportmanship costing us Frings and probably the whole thing just because of their bitterness back then.
I'm not that worried about FIFA at this moment - they wanted Brazil to win, I don't think they want Argentina to win on Brazilian soil, which would be pretty cruel to the home crowd. Can't wait to see Blatter's face when he has to hand the trophy to Lahm, though! Worst case scenario is that we get an incompetent ref and the calls can go either way, but I don't think even that will happen. I'm hoping for Howard Webb, personally - he probably won't fall for Mascherano & co's diving.
Löw, July 2012: "We have not peaked yet. We will by 2016 Euros" Löw, Spring 2014: "There is no way we can win the whole thing. Brazil will. Our aim is the semifinals" Löw, June 2014: "We are here to win the World Cup." Löw, June 2014: "4-3-3 is the way to go. Lahm will play only in midfield. I am confident in my vision and stay true to it. End of discussion." Löw, late June 2014: "Algeria is a very dangerous team. We will show our top game though and will advance" Löw, prior to France match, July 2014: "Lahm's position and team's formation is not up for discussion. I made my decision a long time ago and will stick to it no matter what you suckers say." Sack this stubborn nose excavator! Give us Jantchke Volland and Hahn!
I forgot one more gem: Löw, prior to France match, July 2014: "Seven of our team are down with a flu. I won't tell you who. Their starting berth is under big question."
Don't forget the quarter-final 2010 where Messi played the ball with his arm and from there it jumped to Müller's hand. Then the Argentines all ran to the ref and persuaded him to give Müller the yellow card that Messi should have received. And with that Müller was out of the semi-final against Spain. As I see it their antics might have cost us two WC finals in a row. I really couldn't stand losing to this bunch.
Anybody know when the trophy ceremony will be? I figure I might sleep through the game and then just watch us lift the trophy.
All this trash talk... Now watch us lose this bayern vs Chelsea style... Here's a gem though http://m.bleacherreport.com/article...me-early-predictions-for-germany-vs-argentina

I am confident we will win. The difference between 2014 and others years such as 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012, the team actually believes they can win this.
Why is this newsworthy? That was clear from the beginning of the 2nd half. Dunno of Rethy or Kahn or whover said it on tv but somewhere I remember a "they surely will not put on quite a show now in the 2nd half".
