Obviously, I'm pretty sad about this. However, Germany totally outplayed us and deserved to win, while we were lost during the whole match and it's mostly Felipão's fault, but the players also seemed to give up around the second goal. I guess sh*t happens and, even though the Cup is happening here, it just wasn't going to happen with such a disorganised team. Maybe next time, right?
I disagree. The fortuitous nature of Brazil's progression helped to mask their failings notably in the general public and with a lot of the press. If you take it into account it helps to explain the semi-final and that's before missing players are even discussed.
Normally in these big matches both teams come out tentative, feeling each other out for the first 10 minutes. Not today. It was a firecracker from the start... Brazil now wish they would have taken measure, not that it would have mattered in the end.
Mhhh so this was the semi final. Mhhh crazy. Are the brasilian fans now pro Germany or not? ^^ Against Argentina or especially Holland Germany needs it. I'm guessing Holland will advance
I know people are giving credit to the US for only losing 1-0 but let's be honest here, USA was parking the bus for that match, Low was using 4 center backs and Lahm was not playing RB position, on top of that, big teams start going during the knockout stages. If anything, Algeria deserves more credit because they actually exposed us and forced Low to make changes.
They thought that attitude would win them the match as it had (arguably) won them the one against COL. They f***ed up big time.
Well thats not true. Brazil nor France could score easily. Of course they are near the goal but is that really a bad defense? The defense is not bad. It is just not the best. But its always the same. You can win against anyone how high you want the team is always shit and/flawed. Well your opinion.
The most World Cups won by a country are 5 by Brazil and 4 by Italy. If Germany wins, it means they would've won their last to cups in those respective nations ('90 Italia, '14 Brasil). Pretty amazing if you think about it.
What? Ghana haven't won a match in this World Cup. They only got a single point. And you have the audacity to think they would have rolled over teams that won their matches convincingly?
France had several opportunities that they pissed away. let's not forget that Germany didn't do much against France. Their only goal came because the ref called a questionable foul against Pogba. Several times France broke down the German defense. Yes it is opinion and you have yours. I respect that. I just think Germany won't win because of how slow and shaky their defense is.
but there is no reason to bring the US up in the discussion either. Many small teams played impressively during the group stages(like Iran vs Argentina) but are we going to sit here and pretend that that was the real Argentina?
That's not a Riot puyol, stop calling for a Riot. If it happens you are allow to post but calling it without any evidence is just trolling, if you want to troll please move your bs to the Rivalries thread
the defense is only slow and shaky when Mertesacker is playing. Being 7-0 up would be difficult for any team to not lose focus. France didn't play well against Germany. Germany got the goal they wanted and were able to suck the game out of France...even after all of this, Germany was still playing with 3 center backs.
You'll find that it not always true. It is a poor comparison, far to simple. You should use a better comparison.
You miss the point. You don't kick someone when they are down...even if you're right. It's classless and unsporting. Ironically, he is doing exactly what he was accusing the Brazilian players of doing all tournament.
I do agree that USA was not impressive at all, even though they parked the bus. I don't know why Americans are taking anything from that match. Lowe didn't even take that game seriously by starting Podolski. Germany still came out firing and could've been up by several goals if they were a bit more clinical. No denying Germany dominated that match and didn't seem as panicked as they did against Ghana. Low only made changes against Algeria because of the Mustafi injury in the 60th minute of that match. He was forced to move Lahm back to RB. Had Mustafi not been injured, I'm pretty sure Germany wouldn't look as impressive. That might've been the best thing to happen to them.
The question in these defense debates is always: which team has a fast and amazing defense? And now dont start with all these 8-10 men defending bus parking teams! That is not the real defending we should be talking about. Its the defense that has to be brillant when the team is playing offensively. That is always more difficult. And I dont see many strong offensive teams with an amazing defense.
Not only that, but the Brazilian fans together with the dutch fans must shout AAAAAAAAANNNNNNVALUHHHHHHHHHH!!! and we will take those Germans out (if we can beat Argentina ofcourse).
