Very. Would still prefer to see the Netherlands in it, though.

Given the tone of posts over the past week, people will criticize us harshly for over-commitment to UEFA.

Honestly despite Robben being a complete twat I would rather see Netherlands win. And I like their chances more vs Germany than Brazil in Brazil
My ideal final before was between 2 non previous winners and as Netherlands is the only one left I choose them
Sure Costa Rica could shock them and they could shock Argentina but the final..... they aren't winning it

Di Maria out with a muscle tear. He really has been a HUGE support player for Messi and Argentina. It will be interesting to see how they do without him.

    Same here.
I was dreaming for a France- Netherlands final, but expected Netherlands to win it all realistically.

Based on the final 4 performances at this WC I would guess:
    1 Netherlands
    2 Germany
    3 Argentina
    4 Brazil

    MVP...Robben

    Suspect vs Costa Rica?
I know the score doesn't reflect it but if you don't call this total domination by Holland then we watched 2 different games.

Seconded. Argentina looked suspect against Iran. Against Switzerland.

Holland's performance was hardly suspect. At what point do we stop detracting from a great run from a very very good Costa Rican team?

Let's give Costa Rica credit. This is the same team that beat Uruguay and Italy.

Truth is all 4 teams looked suspect at times getting to this point. All 4 teams barely squeezed by in their round of 16, and quarterfinal matches ... and several group stage matches.

Absolutely agree, but given that the world cup is in Brazil, the atmosphere would be surreal.

4 years ago UEFA teams broke a tradition by winning a tournament wich wasnt on European soil, they could break another tradition this year by winning it on South-American soil.

All the soils belong to us ;)

I'd love to see the Dutch win against Argentina and the Germany. That way we defeated every team that ever won against us in the final. Also, I'd want to see us win just to hear van Gaal's awesome speach when they get back home :D

It would be nice for the first European nation to win on South American soil to be the Dutch, who have always fallen just short.

They have problems to fix before they win it all though. Germany is the best bet to win it all. They incurred injuries before the start of the tournament, not afterwards. Their biggest stars are still playing without injury, tactical issues have been seemingly sorted out, and the leadership is there. Brazil and Argentina have lost big names on their rosters and have had some huge problems in certain areas. The Netherlands needs to figure out why they have consistently struggled to finish.

Holland.....why Holland? Defensive team with offense possibilities like 2008-2010 and 2012. They won't win it all. They can't!

On June 12th 'we' couldn't get out of the group, according to many. It's a team game... Haven't you grasped that yet?
If 1 good player (Messi) makes Argentina a contender, then 2 or 3 good players make the Dutch a contender. Depends on how willing, capable, committed and tuned-in the others are in making sure those really good players can 'do their worst'!

I still think Brazil ... They've already eliminated Chile and Colombia who I think are both stronger than most of the other teams left.

Sure they lost Neymar but I have faith that Willian or Bernard can be dangerous ... besides Neymar kind of disappeared once the knock out stage started and the games became harder.

Silva may be a big absence ... but again I have faith in Dante. Dante is world class and he will feel comfortable playing against those Germans. And then Silva comes back fresh for the final.
