You really think Switzerland scores twice?

    I think 3-1 Argentina.

Yes, they will. Have you seen Argentina's defense? It's the worst I've ever seen from Argentina, much worse than with Maradona as coach.
Messi will have a good game, but the first game that Messi doesn't show up, Argentina is out, which I think will be in the semis.

Do you think Higuain will score with his belly or with his fat ass?

I think Argentina will win by a difference of 1 or 2 goals, and concede at least 1. If Messi continues playing like in the group, I think he'll extend his impressive feat of scoring and being decisive in every game. Aguero is still injured, so I'd expect Lavezzi to start. He played well against Nigeria. Let's see if he continues to.

Our offense, unlike our defense, has actually been clicking this WC. Seven goals in the group stage.

I don't have high hopes for this match but for us all the pressure is gone now. Be it the silly 6th place ranking or the nagging Honduras memories from 2010. Got nothing to lose and all to gain.

This game actually favors the Swiss. It's in superb weather, so nice. Switzerland is actually playing well as a team and have a capable offense. I see them score at least 2 vs. Argentina. My guess is 3. Argentina will have to go full out offense because it's gonna be a slugfest.

Argentina will win. Swiss hasn't impressed me that much but I feel like they will show up and frustrate Argentina early on but messi will score and Argentina will move on

Where are the cow bells? Don't recall seeing any in the 2 Swiss matches I (partially) watched.
They should enjoy this game for what it probably is: their WC final.

Agreed. So far Argentina has been a sublime Messi and ten other guys. That they conceded three goals in the group stage and won each of their three matches by only one goal tells you how poorly they've been playing.

If the US beats Belgium, they could really give Argentina a run for their money in the quarterfinals because of their counterattacking ability and overall speed. But any way you look at it, Argentina is going to have to pick up their game significantly if they are going to make it past the semis.

So how does "superb weather" favor Switzerland? Do you think Argentines prefers hot, humid weather? Do you think Argentina is a tropical country?

    Likely line-up against Argentina:

    GK: Diego Benaglio (Wolfsburg, Germany)
    LD: Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg, Germany)
    CD: Johan Djourou (Hamburg, Germany)
    CD: Fabian Schaer (Basel, Switzerland)
    RD: Stephan Lichtsteiner (Juventus, Italy)
    LM: Admir Mehmedi (Freiburg, Germany)
    CM: Gokhan Inler (Napoli, Italy)
    CM: Valon Behrami (Napoli, Italy)
RM: Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich, Germany)
    OM: Granit Xhaka (Moenchengladbach, Germany)
FW: Josip Drmic (Nuernberg, Germany / Signed for Bayer Leverkusen post-WC)

We have the 4th youngest team in the competition. The oldest player on the roster, before his injury, was Steve von Bergen at 31. While most eyes will be on Shaqiri it is prudent to note that relatively recent addition Drmic scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga last season.

Before the inevitable "Kosovo national team" comment makes its way in here, let me add that all our players were born and raised in Switzerland or moved there at a very young age (five or younger). None of them got any special immigration privileges and none of them were "poached" from another association. What you see is 100 percent a product of Swiss football.

And in case anyone wonders, Ramadan will not have any impact on our team. None of the players are fasting.

Argentinean is doing a regular work. Three victories but no convincing football.

Argentina will advance... 1-0 or a draw by 0-0 1-1 with penalties victory.

I'm rooting for them and I have a ticket for the match! :D will be there!

I'm an Argentina fan just fyi. The weather favors the Swiss because they won't be sweating their balls off like the rest of them EUs. Argentinians can play in any weather.

I'm not giving Switzerland much of a chance here but I didn't give Costa Rica much of a chance of finishing anything but dead last in their group
