That was ugly. I had to mute the audio. The homer Railhawks announcer was horrible. That's what it looks like when your team doesn't really care that much if they win or lose.
Wow. This is a really mediocre team. Keane needs to finish a chance occasionally and stop, Stop, STOP trying to dribble through 3 defenders. His play has been so unprofessional lately. I'm sick of it.
I will now jump on the panic button bandwagon. Expecting the usual not-excuse excuses from the usual suspects.
N Not when the team is brought down by a typical twice-monthly Leo brainfart. It takes a whole team underachieving to constitute an embarassment.
Full credit to Carolina GK. But I'm so pissed right now. Husidic licks ass. Gawdammit. It's game like these that makes me hate commie ball. But I'll be back for more tomorrow for the WC matches. Gawdammit, this is like an addiction.
Man, sure glad Donovan is dominating MLS and showing Klinsy that he should have brought him to Brazil.
Luck definitely played a hand here but it needs to be addressed how often we play against inferior teams and come out not only short but play down to their level. The coaching needs to admit that tonight was a gigantic failure. Losing this often and this early in the open cup isn't acceptable. Never has been.
This is unacceptable. Part of me was already accepting defeat since that's the norm for us in the USOC, but this is humiliating.
Unfrakkinbelievable. Another year, another loss to the Railhawks, and another early bounce from the US Open Cup. Yeah, some championship club the Galaxy are. What a joke.
Sorry, there's simply no excuse for this loss. I don't care Leo gave up his usual goal. I don't care a second division keeper had a good game. $8 million dollars on the field in your two front players and not a single goal. Hardly a shot on goal in regulation. Not good enough, not by a long shot.
Anyone remember what happened to us after last season's loss to Carolina? ... 5-0 loss to NE 3-1 loss to RSL 0-0 Portland draw then finally a win 1-0 against Chivas 3-2 loss to SJ I remember that loss to SJ. I think they won in stoppage time. I was there at Stanford Stadium. That really sucked. Let's hope for a better result this weekend.
It's worrisome how static and how low on ideas this team looks even against lower division sides. This is a giant RED FLAG. Either our aging team steps up or we got out and get new blood into this organization. The more I think about it the worse this loss feels and the less it makes sense.
When is the Leonardo experiment going to be officially over? Meyer and Opare are our centerbacks of the future, let Leo ride the pine or play somewhere else. We could play AJ at CB had Bruce not got rid of all of our young outside backs. Its clear that Keane and Donovan can't shoulder the scoring burden alone, yet everyone Bruce has brought in has not addressed this glaring issue. Do we have a director of soccer like they do in Europe? A person who is responsible for eyeing talent and helping to bring in perspective players? I feel like either Bruce has to solely focus on coaching this team or we need a change of scenery. It's just not cutting the mustard.
Thank you, Galaxy. I am now well prepared for US vs. Germany. No matter what happens it's going to be easy to watch compared to that.
Yeah Leo got burned on the goal but I don't blame him for this loss. This was a team loss. If we put away a third of the chances we would have still won. Their goalie had a great night but the finishing was still unacceptable. If we had any creativity we could have been able to breakdown their bunkering defense. Bruce needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and figure out what he is going do to get this team to the standard they should be at.
