Obviously Bento has to get fired / step down first

but if he was to leave after the tournament who should be the coach?

lets try and be realistic here, talking only about coaches who are available and would likely come
we know Jose Mourinho will not be available at this moment.

    OCEANO

    ex Seleccao player,

    he can motivate the team
    he is tough
Ronaldo will smarten up because Oceano will kick his ass and give Irina BBC if he is being a idiot.

also, refs will be intimidated and we will finally get breaks whenever questionable decisions must be made. if Oceano was on the bench, that Serbian Ref would not have called that penalty. he knows he would get his ass kicked after the game. Also, in many European backwater countries such as Serbia they dont have black people, so those refs will be intimidated by Oceano's presence.

    Also, he is bad ass

its what we should do until someone like Villas Boas or Mourinho are available. (although should they become available you can count on England snapping them up first)

Sa Pinto because if we lose we get a mass brawl punch up from the benches as Pinto head butts the other coach.

IMO there are only two good coaches on that list, Scolari and Fernando Santos. Santos would be a decent albeit a little underwhelming choice, Scolari might be a little too expensive.

If we go the foreign route, I wouldn't mind someone like Guus Hiddink or Jupp Heynckes.
Heynckes has a great resume, having won 2 Champions League titles. Also coached Benfica in the 90's, so maybe knows a little Portuguese. Probably unrealistic though.

From that list, I say JF. He could use the youth to turn the ship around.. He has won more than Bento could ever dream.

How about Jorge Jesus? He can turn us into a deadly attacking team, no?

What a shit list to choose from, our options suck.

Scolari would motivate but unlike Brazil he only selected older guys for Portugal. I can see him calling up Meireles until he leaves to coach Liverpool in the middle of WC 2018.

Someone get AVB out of Russia and Get Bruma in the EPL

Definitely AVB. Still believe he is a smart coach but we need a coach who has won something, knows the ropes. And please no SCOLARI. We choked in 2004. You want him back, seriously?

Knowing FPF, Joao Pinto is being groomed as the next in line. He is Bento's b****.

What are you guys even on about? FPF signed Bento until 2016 before this WC. They will not fire him.

There are plenty of good enough Portuguese coaches, problem is all the top ones are too young/ taken.

next coach will most likely be Fernando Santos or Jesualdo Ferreira IMO
both of which are much more experienced and have won more than Paulo Bento.

He wants to Naturalize a bunch of Argentines, so he won't be a good pick.

Keep Bento until 2016, he will learn from this experience. He's good with young players, he was fooled with the Semi-Final run in 2012. I will love to see Mourinho coach the team for the 2018 World Cup.

Realistically, i see it being Fernando Santos. What he did with a crappy Greek team was pretty impressive, the FPF is going to acknowledge that first and foremost out of all the options to choose from.
