I already got the go ahead for a three hour lunch on Thursday from my boss, who will be taking a three hour lunch on Wednesday. He's from Argentina. His vanity plates read MESSI-10. He understands my obsession.

Geez, I wish today was a national holiday. I feel like I got run over by a beer truck and I probably smell like a drunken hobo.

I wish I could remember how I got home...(and yes, I didn't drive at all yesterday. At least I don't think I did.)

I'll sign it but I've had an important doctors appointment scheduled for that day since December

That means you're either a teacher of Swedish national team player.

I, for one, am glad enough to live in a country where we value GDP over a sports competition.

As a public servant, I am personally exempt from having to worry about contributing to the GDP on Thursday, but that's besides the point.

    3500 now.

During the 2002 WC, some newspaper - I think it was USA Today had some kind of Survivor-like poll to pick the most important sporting event. I think there was something eliminated each day. Everyday, we picked what we wanted tossed and voted as a group, all with the plan to have the WC eventually win. I think another forum joined in on the fun and, after a couple of days, they killed the voting due to suspicious voting patterns.

So get out there and vote (and ask your friends, also).
