Well, im argentinian and believe it was a penalty kick. The forward touches the ball first. But to say that iran played well is ludicrous. They just played to clear the ball. If you had a few more teams like that, this world cup would suck. So i thank god for messi, robben, benzema and all those who understand the game.

The time wasting by Di Maria was quite telling! Honesty, who would have thought that Argentina would engage in time wasting to preserve a 1:0 victory over Iran!

That's usual, no matter the opponent. I don' t agree with it. But it has been done for the past 100 years.

Tactics, defense is part of football, whether you like it or not. This IS football, and because our player "understood the game" as well they almost held Argentina to a deserved draw. It surely hurts for you to admit but it's the truth.

It is usual when a side is happy with the result and is anxious to run the clock out! Which is what I was alluding to. I wasn't complaining about the lack of fair play, but what it told us about that game.

Lol, it doesn' t hurt me at all. Im not passionate about these things. In fact i recognized it was a penalty imo. I just disagree, football is both defense AND offense. If you lack one, you are not playing well. Simple fact.

We had a more dangerous offense than Argentina in the 2nd half what are you talking about. Queiroz outcoached Sabella in both halves and we lost to the best player in the world and the referee.

Against Argentina, Iran displayed both. That is just a fact. Otherwise, Romero wouldn't be called your hero in that game!

I certainly agree with that and always thought sabella is an awful coach, as do most of my countrymen, but your offensive was risible . Romero was the figure because he had 2 isolated saves that could have put the team to further shame, and the rest of our players were crap. But even so, iran didn't deserve a draw.

You don't have the right to talk about our women. The thing that you use possessive adjectives to talk about WOMEN shows how you treat women!
Women are the most respected people in our culture. You should not talk about something if you do not have enough information about it! Women to me and to all the Iranian people are the most valuable and respected people. We treat our mother and sister with more respect than YOU DO!
I don't know when I say something even remotely irrelevant the MODS keep messaging me. Where are you know? A whole nation has been insulted.
Mother is the most beautiful word and creature and the way we treat women is exactly how we treat our mother.
SHAME ON YOU to bring that up!

oh come on argentinians dont engage in fights with iranians. they are happy with the result and is understandable.

argentina did suck and didnt play to its potential, and the game is already over. we could discuss what argentina haves to change to advance and be better in this WC (wich is a lot) but engage in fights with the iranians who are happy for their team is pointless, imo.

I respect you so much but we are not happy about the result! We are so sad cause the referee took away our point and even a victory!
We are happy because the whole world respect us now as a good team. We are so sad about the result. If you read my posts last night you will see that I cried myself into sleeping so don't get us wrong for being happy. We are happy because of something else

i think the biggest issue argentina haves right now is not the defence, like most people thought, its actually the most unexpected: ANGELITO DI MARIA

the player who arrived better at the WC, being the best player and crucial in Real Madrid, who did great in conmebol qualifiers, is just SUCKING in the last 2 games.

did you know di maria is the player with most missess passes in the game vs iran? with 19. and if theres something di maria can do, its to pass!!

so, like i said in this thread a month before wc started and when di maria was supposedly injured for a RM game (thank god he wasnt) we NEED di maria more than anyone. He is our most important player alongside with Messi. The fact that he is playing like crap might explain why argentina is underperforming so badly.

lol masoud shojaie will be pissed. his team las palmas was winning the playoff to la liga 1-0 and the other team scored an offside goal in injury time and thus they will stay in spanish 2nd division. 2 days, 2 injury time goals. this sucks man i wanted him to play in la liga again next season.

I somehow agree. My other concern is that many players don't seem to be physically fit. Aguero, Higuain, Gago and even Di Maria seem weak and slow. Hopefully it's not so and they will prove me wrong in the following matches.

Yeah, Aguero and Higuain seem definetely unfit. You cant explain they low level if thats not the case. They are world class and are playing like amateur strikers.

I think Di maria doesnt seem unfit but he seems nervous and unfocused. Hopefully he will wake up next game. Hell, even if he does it in the round of 16 we are golden, but he needs to do it at some point.

Messi, at least he is scoring amazing goals.

Im pretty sure that guy might have something against the best player in the world. So far you have provided only anti argentinian sources. You might find some more in brazilian or spanish press. Nobody objectively believes Iran deserved to win (a draw could be more debatable). But you did well, within your potential.

Your goalkeeper had more trouble than our goalkeeper. I don't want to talk about that penalty!
We deserved a win. Ronaldo is a professional player and he is right now the best player in the world (I do not agree with this I just say that he does not have anything against him).
We were so good. At worst we could have achieved a draw!

LOL, Ronaldo is just a Messi hater. He haves nightmares in where Messi scores goals and wins Ballon d´or and he does nothing. Dont take anything Ronaldo haves to say about something related to the best player in the world as something serious.
