well, france only had 42% possession against switz. gave up two goals...

it's not about possession. it's not about gung-ho attacking. it's about doing the best you can with what you've got.

delusional? i'll give you delusional. i think france is going to win this whole damn thing.

i'll tell you what more: it will be a shame finishing first in our group because i'd much rather face arg than boz in r16.

Defender barely scratched the ball but completely took down Dejagah, I was watching multiple streams every announcer including Argentina fans agreed it was a penalty, I supposed every announcer was an insane persian fan.

No, football is attacking, it's about scoring beautiful goals, making amazing assists. Why is 1970's WC Brazil considered the best football team in WC history? Because of their defense? If football was about defense people would put 2006 Italy ahead. Even though Argentina was disappointing they were the only ones trying to play.
Look, this was like an awful game for Argentina and it was the best game in the history of Iranian football, yet you lost and got waaaaay outplayed. Period.

If Bosnia wins, it's better for us. They win or draw, either way we have to beat them the last day. But if they win, that might take Nigeria out of equation for us. That said, my heart wants Nigeria to win this one regardless, just so that these Bosanian here experience what World Cup is all about, and get off their high horses. For a team that has yet to win a single point in the World Cup, they sure talk a lot. ;)

You're describing entertaining/attractive football not "football". Football CAN be boring and non-entertaining, it's still football. Stop whining and moaning.

Once again, Iran outrun their opponents. Iran's fitness level has been superb.

OMG, if this is how the road to the the cup is gonna be....i might not make it to the end:oops:

BUT, man, did i shout that goal by messi!
I was in Plaza San Martin, a huge park in where they put a giant screen along with thousands of people....when Messi scored that goal and everyone started shouting, theres a moment i will never forget.

Congratulations to Iran, eventhough they played to defend with 11 men, thats what they do, and they did it ok. Even commentators said they were good in what they were doing.

Argentina was weak in what they were doing, although we play the way we like to play: offensively. The problem is that our FANTASTIC FOUR are playing like crap. Well, save Messi. Higuain, Aguero and Di Maria are playing a 3/10. If they would have been playing closer to their potential, this would have been a festival of goals. Messi is Messi, he is the best in the world and can change the match in one second. His goals was BRILLANT.

Having said so, im kind of glad, despite all the suffering, with the result. Winning by 1 goal playing a mediocre game will make our potential rivals in the knock out stages to underestimate us, and hopefully by that time, the fantastic 3 will start playing and we will do what we know: score and win.

We have one of the best fan bases in the world. The fans celebrated in Tehran, despite the loss, to show their appreciation for the Team Melli players and their efforts today.
