Well, you got Essien on the bench. Its not like Ghana would suddenly be starting somebody unknown.

I really wish head-to-head was the tie-breaker because if we end up losing out to Ghana on goals scored despite beating them I'm going to kill someone.

Still a long ways to go, but I'm just saying.

Yep. 6, 4, 1, 0 points, so only Germany could surpass us.

Exactly. Which makes tomorrow's game against Portugal nearly a must-win.

True. But he's played so well for them.

Their imaginary forward was "just a tiny little bit ahead of" Klose.

If we manage to win tomorrow and knock Portugal out, I'm going to screen cap CR7's face the moment he realizes they aren't advancing and make it my desktop. :sneaky::D

Essien and I would be a good foot race. He's a shell of himself.

Conclusion. Europeans don't like playing football in locations where they go on holiday.

Definitely the best group in the World Cup. Ghana looked every bit as good as Germany.

In theory yes but a draw tomorrow and then Low and Klinsmann can arrange a nice, friendly 0-0 kickabout in the final game. That'll work.

I think that's in place to prevent three way ties where A beats B, B beats C, and C beats A. I think head to head has to be on top or on bottom; there's no room for it in the middle of the tiebreaking order if that makes sense.

I love Essien but he has become slow and doesn't cover the ground he used to. Muntari worked his butt off in both of Ghana's matches. They will have to play differently with Essien in for 60+ minutes.

id rather win tomorrow, do the honors for germany, finish 2nd in the group, and end up on the other side of the bracket of france. this group winner will get france in the quarterfinals. Id rather finish 2nd, play belgium next round and avoid france in the quarters

Remember that Argentina is the qtr if 2G beat Belgium, so it's not like it really matters at that point.

Interesting. France has looked good, but I wonder if we match up better against them.

    It's easy to solve that:

    H2H
    if tied between 3 teams...
    GD between the 3 teams

This has been done many times in various tournaments at different age levels.

But there's slavery, genocide, and various other wrongs in our own history. We wouldn't appreciate it if Germans commented that we looked like slave owners, right?
