Exceeded my expectations as my impression was I was tanking left and right. Mediocre point total (91.0) but decent (for me) ranking of 132 on the week, so others struggled worse. Captaining Jen Hoy yielded 29 points in spite of no goals.

Is Angerer suspended? Wasn't that negated by her national team call up? I was under the impression that she 'served her time' while away on Nat duty.

Really appreciate your previews, by the way!

Doesn't work that way. They've got to miss a game specifically due to the suspension. Ditto for injuries.

Hm... good to know. I suppose Angerer still might be the best option even with 1 game however... hm.

EDIT: Nevermind. Here's my lineup for week 11:

    Goal: Kopmeyer (SEA), Williams (WNY)
Def: Fletcher (SEA), Rampone (SBFC), Catley (POR), Wenino (CHI)
Mid: Heath (POR), Boquette (POR), Little (SEA), Freels (SBFC), Tymrak (FCKC)
Att: Morgan (c) (POR), Sinclair (vc) (POR), O'hara (SBFC), Kawasumi (SEA)

Had to move Hope Solo out of my line up since well.... she got arrested. Hopefully things will be fine with her but had to put Kopmeyer in.

Heath won't be available for Portland until July.

I'm not comfortable with Kopmeyer yet. One good result against a weak Boston side isn't enough for me to put her in. I need to see some consistent results first.

Ah didn't know that. Thanks! Swapped Heath for Long, which freed up an allocation spot. This let me put Hope in goal, with Kopmeyer as her backup. Just in case Hope does start.

She won't play tomorrow. Count on it. You'd be better off looking elsewhere.

I'm starting Barnhart in goal. Just as a warning to everyone (since every GK I start seems to have a terrible week).

Ugh... why? I didn't watch the WNT games, so I have no idea what kind of minutes people played. Would Kerr be a better pick? Or go 4 in the back with 2 Portland defenders? Deadline's coming up. *Twiddles thumbs*

Ah. Good so Long is expected to start (or play at least) today. As for Hope/Kopmeyer, I'm fine with the risk even if there's a 95% chance Hope doesn't start tomorrow. Kopmeyer seems adequate in goal, especially since Wambach will be out for a while, and Seattle's defense has the fewest goals conceded up to this point. But who knows, anything can happen in soccer (as the current WC games have indicated so far).

    EDIT:
Kind of cheating, but here's the Portland lineup before kickoff according to Stumptownfooty gamethread:
    Betos
    Huffman, Marshall, Menges, Catley
    Moros, Brooks
    Farrelly
    Vero
    Morgan, Sinclair

    and

Bench: Kerr, Long, McDonald, Niemiec, Shim, Van Hollebeke, Lewis

    -------
Altered lineup to a 4-3-3, with Marshal in back :p
Oh, and that's a strong looking bench...

Possibly best fantasy league decision I've ever made: captaining Alex Morgan this week. Already have more points just from her than I did from everyone else combined last week. Already over 100 points just from POR-WAS match.

Yup, Morgan really was dominant, glad Sinclair picked up a goal as well. Not happy that Portland couldn't get the shut out since I have 2 Portland defenders. But Skyblue is next and there should be more chances to add more points to the fantasy team.

Well week 11 is in the books, and it had potential to be the biggest week yet.

    Week 12 lineup:
GOL: Solo (yeah, that's right, I went there!), backup/Judge Judy
    DEF: Fletcher(SEA), Huster + Kreiger(WAS)
    MID: Little/c/(SEA), Freels(SBFC), Llyod(WNYF), O'Reilly(BOS)
    ATT: Kawasumi + Leroux(SEA), Taylor(WAS)

Unrelated, but I just arrived in Iceland today! It's my first time here, and my last stop before heading back home stateside after teaching in France. Gonna see my first Reign game live on July 6th! Yay! Bring it on NWSL!

My best week so far this season, and I still didn't crack the top 50...

    Week 11 Points: 143.00
    Week 11 Rank: 84
    Overall Points: 1055.00
    Overall Rank: 175

It was all about starting and captaining Morgan though... 42.5 x 2 = 85 points from one player! I only had 2 other starters over 10 points, Boquete and Barnhart.

I did jump from 324 overall to 175 overall. Which seems like a huge improvement for so far into the season.

167 points total. Came in 19th over all for that week. My best result. Climbed from 57th over all to 27th overall. Still trailing the leader by over 200 points but its not so bad now. Alex Morgan had a giant point night, maybe the best I have seen in a while. 42 points is crazy good and a good reason why I did so well when I captained her. Sinclair also had a great week too.

    Match ups for Week 12:

    Friday, June 27
WNY Flash vs Boston Breakers - Fri 7:30pm

    Saturday, June 28
FC Kansas City vs Portland Thorns FC - Sat 8:00pm
Houston Dash vs Washington Spirit - Sat 9:00pm
Seattle Reign FC vs Skyblue FC - Sat 9:00pm

    Wednesday, July 2
Washington Spirit vs Boston Breakers - Wed 7:00pm
WNY Flash vs Seattle Reign - Wed 7:00pm
Skyblue FC vs Houston Dash - Wed 7:00pm

Last week's 5 matches created an unexpected bonanza of points. Good part because Alex Morgan played like the franchise player that she is. This week, we have even more games.

WNY Flash, Skyblue FC, Houston Dash, Seattle Reign, Washington Spirit and Boston Breakers all play 2 matches this week. And strangely enough Chicago is one the one team on a bye week. So plenty of match ups that people can pick players for.

WNY Flash vs Boston Breakers: Abby Wambach was injured last week and looks to be out this match as well with a sprained LCL. The Flash should still have the players to win this, but their form hasn't been consistent so Boston could be trouble for them.

FC Kansas City vs Portland Thorns FC: With the trouble Skyblue created for Portland to link up with their forwards. What do you think will happen with a side that actually smothers the middle of the field with 2 holding players? Could be bad for Portland, but the one hope is that FCKC decide to try out a 4-4-2 formation with Sarah Hagen. Jenn Buczkowski has not been good when she is the lone holding midfielder.

Houston Dash vs Washington Spirit: I actually have this match a push, this is up in the air who can take this. The Spirit can score but their defense has just been horrible. And with the Dash getting their 2 allocated defenders back from Europe, they should look good defensively with McCloud manning the net.

Seattle Reign FC vs Skyblue FC: Skyblue looked good against Portland, but this is Seattle and I don't think they will be upsetting the Reign. They have just too much firepower, the only question will be, will Hope Solo be back with the team?

Washington Spirit vs Boston Breakers: The Spirit should have the edge here. Both defenses haven't been good so we could see a fair number of goals from both sides.

WNY Flash vs Seattle Reign: Will Abby Wambach be healthy for this match? With her sprain, I would doubt this. Flash played the Reign tough last time, taking the lead and forcing the Reign to come back to win it. But with their whole roster together and Abby questionable, the Reign look the stronger side.

Skyblue FC vs Houston Dash: Both Skyblue and Houston have had problems in the past scoring, but the Dash do look to be a better side, especially with their national team players on defense. This could go either way, but I have a feeling the Dash might take this.

-Probably should avoid any Skyblue players for this week. They might score against the Dash, but the Dash defense has improved and against Seattle, it does look bad for them.
-Houston has some possibilities here since they face a weak Washington defense and a soft one in Skyblue. But who to pick? Its like throwing darts to figure out who will score for the Dash.
-Same goes for Washington. Play Houston and Boston, both good candidates for goals, but at least here you have a good idea who can step up.
-Seattle and Washington will probably be your best bets for offensive players.
-Seattle, Houston and Kansas City will be your best bets for shutouts.

    Defensive Picks for this week:

Kim Little: 2 matches this week. Must have on the fantasy roster.

Erin McCloud: Really good match ups against Washington and Skyblue. With Engen and Klingenberg now with the team, their defense has now only improved. The problem with this pick up, do you take any Washington players? Can you be hoping for shutouts and then hoping the other team scores and torpedoes that?

    Optional picks for this week:

Megan Rapinoe: Easily would be a starter on my line up with the 2 matches. The problem is will she play? Should you start her and then hope for the best and have a sub ready to take her place if she doesn't? Risk vs reward.

Abby Wambach: Has a sprained LCL, won't start this week, and probably not the next game.

Amy Rodriguez: With only one match this week and against Portland. Probably not a good idea to start her.

Alex Morgan: Again same thing with Rodriguez. One match but against a good defense like the Blues. The midfield could cut service off to Morgan. Risky pick, but if she scores, then its very worth the pick up.

Hope Solo: Made bail and is with the team. The question is, will she start on Saturday and I think the answer will be no. So she will be a one match keeper. Still decent if she picks up the shut out but its against the Flash and that is not a gimme.

Samantha Kerr/Carli Lloyd: Has 2 matches, one of them a very good match up in Boston and the other a bad one in Seattle.

Jodie Taylor/Diana Matheson/Christine Nairn: Have Boston and Houston. Good match ups with Boston but Houston should be a problem to score on.

Lianne Sanderson/Heather O'Reilly: Could be a good pick up since they are facing a weak Washington defense and Western New York.

Week 12 line up, bolded players are starters. 3-4-3 formation.

Goalkeepers: Erin McCloud (Houston-allocated), Lydia Williams (WNYF)
Defenders: Elli Reed (Seattle), Kendall Fletcher (Seattle), Ari Romero (Houston-allocated), Leigh Ann Robinson (FCKC)
Midfielders: Kim Little (Seattle), Diana Matheson (Washington-allocated), Christine Nairn (Washington), Carli Lloyd (WNYF), Lianne Sanderson (Boston)
Forwards: Jodie Taylor (Washington), Naho Kawasumi (Seattle), Megan Rapinoe (Seattle-allocated), Samantha Kerr (WNYF)

Megan Rapinoe (Captain), Kim Little (Vice Captain)

So time to explain my strategy here. Normally I do not like taking so many players on defense and offense playing against eachother. Seems counter productive if you offensive players are blowing up your shutouts, but 6 of the 9 clubs in the NWSL are playing double matches this week so its going to be unavoidable to have some overlap, and I am mainly going off by match ups.

-Seattle and Houston are the two main clubs I am looking for shut outs. Wanted to use Hope Solo but there is a good chance she is missing her first match this week, so I moved to McCloud who has 2 good match ups.

-Megan Rapinoe. She was questionable to play last week, this week who knows. I don't have the injury report, so this is a big risk on my part, but I have Samantha Kerr waiting on the sidelines if this blows up in my face. The idea in captaining Rapinoe, well Rapinoe, takes a ton of shots, she is a shot taker and will take shots anywhere. If she doesn't start, then Kim Little will be my vice captain. Either way I will try to cover and hedge my bets on this risky bet I am making.

Abby's out for at least a month. The earliest I could see her return is the July 31st match against SkyBlue.

Captain Morgan - she saved my bacon too!

I had Freels and Boquete in there so that was positive, everyone else pretty much duds.

I am so done with Angerer. I initially was gambling that Cameron would get a game or two, but made her my back-up at last minute.
