If CR and Uruguay advance out of this group, that would be insane. Both finalists from the Euro would be eliminated in the group stage. :ROFLMAO:

Prandelli deserves to lose this game because he didn't bring Immobile on. It's situations like these where you can have two CFs in Balotelli and Immobile.

I'm... astonished. To think that the first team to qualify from a Italy/England/Uruguay/Costa Rica group would be CR... Wut?

To think that either Uruguay or Italy won't be in the next round... Makes me kinda sad.

COSTA RICA !!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!
First Uruguay (that beats England), and now Italy!!
History made again today - first time in the history a Central American Nation wins 2 WC matches in a row.
    What is going on here?!

Italy really does play at a brasileirao pace. I thought it would help them like it did against England but it backfired big time today.

I agree but I also think most Euro teams underestimated this heat.

Who in particular underestimated it? Both Italy and Spain were here last year.....

lol terrible excuses as to why CR won. A majority of CR's starting XI play in very cold conditions year round.. Sweden, Denmark, England, Greece, Germany.. lol lets call it as it is, CR out smarted Italy with a very efficient Offsides trap and that overwhelming five man backline.

They outnumbered Italy in the midfield too, especially after Prandelli brought in the useless Cassano on....

I'm not defending Italy or making excuses for them but I think the conditions are playing a minor role in this World Cup.

Exactly. Look at how Germany glided around in Salvador at a 1pm kickoff.

Italy's travel schedule is doing far more harm than the climate. They made a bad situation worse by making Rio as their headquarters.

Not just Costa Rican players, a lot of the american players play in the old continent and even in Japan / Korea.

It'll be very similar imo. The weather is almost identical to the day of the friendly as well.. #spooky

Mourinho had said that after springing "the big surprise" against la Celeste it would be "difficult for Costa Rica to make another one," continuing that the threat of Campbell and their tactical system were both "no longer new."

    Lol....say it isn't so Jose.

hahaha Jose Luis Pinto actually just responded to that remark made by Mou.

"So you're telling me Mou, that you're team doesn't win on Saturday after winning on Wednesday?"

Italy and Uruguay are going to go at each other like rabid dogs. A Costa Rica draw against England guarantees first place.

Brazil doing a poor job on the post game conferences, microphones not working, translations being completely off.. just wow..

Translators are provided by FIFA aren't they (for official match conferences, for team ones the team federation provides one). Of course, they hire local companies/freelancers for this kind of stuff.

Was it in this forum earlier in the year someone posted a video about how bad the English in Brazil's service industry is?
