Johansson will come better next match, but it'll require Jürgen switching the formation around to get any use out of him. The folks calling for him to start over Jozy can, hopefully, now see why JK kept starting Jozy.

Wonder if JK will call Boyd in now?

This team is from a country that has a region called the American South. You can train for 80-degree heat and 100% humidity.

We might have to consider swapping out Bedoya and going

    -----Clint-----AJ-----
    ----------Mix---------
    Jones-----------Bradley
    -------Beckerman-----

against Portugal. Puts Mix in a position to succeed and impact the game, help Clint/AJ up top, gives plenty of defensive support behind him and Mikey has experience playing at RM. Did so at Roma a number of times.

Said well. I would add Beckerman to the list of players whose whole-game output was essential.

I don't see how one can be so hard on him, with ZERO service or possession from the midfield. What'd he have 2 touches all night?

I'll take the win, but I am deeply disturbed by how shockingly bad Bradley was. Easily his worst game for the USMNT ever. He has to be playing well for us to have a chance against either Portugal or Germany. Very worried about him right now.

Also, we give CR7 time and space for some of those long drives the Black Stars kept missing on, he'll have a hat trick or worse.

These are the players I want to see, though the roles I'd have for them are different from what you have.

The most surprised person in the stadium - John Brooks.

    Great result.

    Terrible everything else.

I feel the dubious 23 man decisions have immediately come back to haunt us (No Altidore replacement, No Donovan, Goodson should have been among the CBs).

Also - that was some sub-Bob Bradley level stuff. Klinsmann has had a reality check I guess.

I will say this: in general, we looked much more poor than we have over the majority of the past couple of years. Bad decision-making, poor touches all around--especially from reliable players.

    Nerves?

I'm not sure, but even with that we still won. I'll take a bit of hope from that.

I'm generally forgiving of strikers with no service...but AJ with the ball just made terrible decisions almost every time he touched it.

I was Hermosa Beach pier and the place went nuts on the second goal. Espn was there and we were nail biting til the end. I did not get to see the replays of the brooks goal, just saw him laying down, thought he was hurt for a second. Just so happy.

We also played entertaining football under both coaches, than we did under Klinsmann...but JK has been better about grinding out results.

Hard? Yes. DOes he deserve it? I think so. The kid was totally off with his runs and decision making on teh field.

Now the question is, will the kid start for us vs. Portugal? I have fafith in him, because it's pretty scary having to come in 20mins in for the star striker who just had 2 amazing goals on their last game.

I think he has a bright future, but he needs to step it up next game. If not, old man Wondo' is waiting to take his role.

I never watch Wondo play in the MLS. Do you think he comes anywhere near to doing what JK is trying to get out of that position?

I live on the Gulf Coast, I know exactly what its like. But, I'm sitting here in central air. This was not normal humid conditions. This was like the five minutes just after a sudden rain storm ends, and steam is rolling up off the pavement. Only it didn't dissipate. This was a sauna, not normal conditions.

wasn't this the reason Klinsmann became coach, so he could stop this flawed "damn strategy" that was heavily used by Arena and Bradley?

are we ever going to damn improve?

89 minutes of bunker. 40-60 possession. Set piece goal. Love that new style.

    Love the win more.
