What? We were managing the game well up until after that bogus penalty was awarded to Germany. THEN we started to break down mentally. That was a very soft call, there are way too many cases where that isn't called in Europe all the FREAKING time. If you haven't noticed, referee's are being generous when it comes to awarding penalties for a reason. FIFA wants an exciting tournament.

Yeah, that's what I feared. This is what everybody had been saying all along - Bento should have brought a real LB backup to Coentrao. I am pessimistic about Coentrao's chances here - it looked bad but maybe we'll be lucky. (Huemelles knee injury looked bad too).

He's talking about the loss of Pepe and Coentrao (likely for the cup) - probably the 2nd and 3rd best players on the team and without a proper replacement for the LB position.
No it put us at a disadvantage but we still had 75+ minutes of a game that we looked dangerous in the first 10. Pepe killed the game when there was a glimmer of salvage. I can see him doing something stupid like that during a league campaign of 38 games or in the group of the CL but in The World Cup??? Makes the red cards vs Korea look like good ideas.
