We have a ridiculous amount of quality young players...if only half of them become good then we will be absolutely fine.

Well he needs some minutes, he is lacking match fitness for a long time now. He was not fit during CL final and he is not 100% now as well. So IMO, if he doesn't get few practice minutes he could be damn poor against Germans.

No Ronaldo. No problem. Somebody will step up.

CR should be used as a sub. Guess it's a wait & see with Bento. Use him as a striker moron. Save energy!

well update is hes been training, and looks like hell even play against Ireland

but thats worrisome, they are hacks and winning against Portugal is better than winning the WC for the Irish.

came back , no goals but looked good and the catalyst for a 5-1 win

the team was much more confident knowing Ronaldo is back, and he played well and contributed to setting up goals and chances.

I think the confidence of the team is the main thing. I don't think he was close to his usual self, but it doesn't matter. The team feeds off of him. Everyone plays more relaxed and confident.

he had a nice FK, had a ferocious left foot strike, helped set up a goal, had a wicked jump for a header

he still has 6 days before the Germany game. he will be close to his full powers.

Apparently he's doubtful for the tourney now

@Brazil14WC: Away from the #BRA match, Cristiano Ronaldo has limped out of Portugal's training session and is doubtful for the WC. http://t.co/Fjz0KGlcXJ

He left training in tears. I don't think he will make it, or if he does it will end in tears and we will lose our focus during the games rather than if he quietly left before the World Cup we can do a game plan to compensate - but his ego is too big he has to play some point during every international tournament.

Where did you see he left with tears? I think this is nothing to worry about.

It is not good for Portugal fans to rely only on Ronaldo at 29

Where is the next ronaldo coming through to hang our hats on? like Ronaldo in Euro 20014.

That's the question we need answered from people in Portugal, what are they paid to do why has the talent pool dried up?

Let's hope not. Even when CR7 isn't playing well, his presence gives confidence to the other players.

Can Portugal really afford to carry a player at the World Cup, even Ronaldo?

The world cup is with the best teams and players, it will be decided on details and we are effectively surrendering winning to carry Ronaldo. Sends a wrong message.

I'm afraid we're over-reliant on him. He's by far our best player and an inspiration. He's the only reason other teams think we stand a chance on winning.

well , some of the clubs are not developing their in-house talent.
hence why we have scouts on here forced to be proclaiming 13 year olds as the next ronaldo.

anyways I didnt read anything about him leaving in tears.
its training, he had an ice pack on his knee which is pretty normal. does not mean he will miss the tournament.

We are being delusional if we believe CR7 will not be playing through periods of pain. he will play, at times he may not be at 100%, and at times he will feel pain but this is what we have to deal with.

Talent pool dried up? Really, because since I have monitored Portugal I don't recall this much talented youngsters.

Also for all the drama queens, Ronaldo will be there against Germany. I don't need a crystal ball to know the media looks for stories to feed the overly dramatic fan bases.

Just relax and wait for Portugal to upset many people around the globe, only for them to forget when 2016 rolls around. Rinse and repeat.

How many countries have the next CR7 or Messi? These types of players don't show up every year. Portugal had to wait years after Eusebio to see a Figo and we got lucky and had a CR7 right after. Might have to wait 2 years or 10 years to see the next "CR7"

Our team is decent but everyone just talks about CR7. If Nani shows up, he can be pretty close to CR7.
