I arrive at 2PM on June 15. I wanted to do the dune buggy thing, but like for 2 or 3 hours, not all day. Is that possible?
The articles I've read say the rate is $R2/km. The route appears to be about 60 minutes and 40km so R$80 would be about right but I'd be interested if anyone can confirm this also as we'll be taking this route this Saturday evening.
I'm meeting up with a few others (solo and non-solo travelers) at 6p.m. on the 15th at a bar/restaurant in Natal and then mostly likely heading out to the U.S. Soccer/AO party. If anyone else is interested, send me a pm for the meeting location. Phil C, Nico787 & YNWA_USA, I sent you an e-mail last night with the details. Hope to see some of you there.
Hello, 3 tickets for USA v Ghana, same row in Category 1. If interested please email me at jules_cattie@yahoo or text me at 917-8387584 . I live/work in NYC so can meet here or mail if needed. Jules
Yep, R$2/km! Just make sure you buy the taxi ticket inside the airport, otherwise the if you go directly to the taxi car, the driver will turn his machine on and you will pay much more for the ride.
Natal info: I've been to the Rodoviária/Bus Terminal this morning to buy my bus ticket to Fortaleza at 23:30 on the 16th (heading to Brazil x México right after USA x Ghana), and there was only one spot left for that bus. But I asked the employee and he told they might open new buses. There is a luggage storage ('guarda-volumes' em português) in the Rodoviária in Natal. It is in the same spot as the information desk (where you pay your park ticket). The little paper sign about the luggage storage was in portuguese in the information desk. Here are the costs: Normal luggage: R$2.50 for 12 hours. After 12 hours, R$1.50 for every 12 hours. Special luggage: R$5.00 for 12 hours. After 12 hours, R$3.00 for every 12 hours.
A taxi ride from the airport to Ponta Negra actually costs R$76. Just called their box office in the airport.
not to be outdone, Ghana is planning a party as well: http://i.imgur.com/tw27Vty.jpg Apparently the president of Ghana will be at the game. Azevedof, I'm on that same bus. My plan is: leave backpack at Bus Station 'Guarda Volumes', go to the USA-Ghana game, then head to the bus station straight after. Sensible plan?
Actually I read something awhile back that said they sold something like 5,500 PMA tickets for the USA-Ghana match. But that was like a month ago. I hope that it'll be like a home game for the US, I have no idea which way the "neutrals" will go.
Sounds good. I might be asking for someone to pick me up after the game with my backpack and drop me off at the bus terminal.
wow, so both USSF parties in Natal are full now? That Peppers Arena is supposed to be huge. Must be all the security Joe Biden is bringing with him!
not sure where else to post this...but did anyone else get the scarf from US Soccer today with the note from Jurgen? It might be because I just had to renew my dues, but the way the note is written it sounds like the scarf went to everyone going to Brazil, maybe everyone who bought PMA tickets? I know I'm not the only one who got it...but who else got it? It says "ONE NATION, ONE TEAM on the red side, and "BRAZIL 2014" on the blue side, and of course each end has the US cartoon crest.
I got it to, its f******* awesome! I'm definitely taking it to Brazil and hope to see thousands of the same at all our games. Its gona be epic against Ghana in Natal.
dude, did you just renew your membership? Or did you only buy PMA tickets? I need to squeeze it in my bag! I am all packed for tomorrow morning! It got here just in time. GO USA !!!!
Not yet im gona renew it in July so mines still active. I also got a PMA ticket. Idk if its exclusive for people that purchased PMA tickets or who just have their membership though. In the card/letter from Klinsmann it says "The enclosed scarf is exclusively for our fans to show your pride and give our players the support they need to succeed on the field". Oh well, its a great scarf, have a safe trip man!
