too short. The ticket holder is exactly 8" long, same as the tickets. The way it's made it is not possible to get the ticket to fit. Another 1/4 inch and it probably would have worked.

 

I just cut that little flap in the back and the ticket slides in fine...

 

but it still is exposed outside of the holder, right? So if you sweat like I do, the ticket will still probably get wet/stained from sweat, right?

 

I think its like an inch... not even ... and only on one side....so I guess the potential to damage it isnt THAT much.. but I guess maybe you can saran wrap that inch?? lol I am a notorious sweat-er... i didnt even think of that.... .so i guess this would be an issue for me too.... . but i think i was just going to stick all of this in my money belt? I dont know... all these details are starting to drive me crazy i just need to get down there already and enjoy myself lol im sure itll all work out one way or another...

I wanted to have something where the ticket is 100% inside and protected, even if it rains or I spill beer down my shirt, etc. And for sure I'm going to sweat, for example during the AO March Over from the pre-match party to the stadium in Natal.

I bought 3 of those bigger holders for $8.56 USD which includes shipping. They said 2-6 days for delivery, and I depart in 8. Hopefully I'll get it but if not my friend will bring it who departs a week after me.

I considered putting it in a zip lock and stashing it in my money belt thing too, but mine is too small for the ticket, only about 6-7" wide.

 

yeah everything is too bulky or not the right size.

 

i was thinking of cutting the flap as well.. good idea.

 

10 SAFETY TIPS FOR WORLDCUP TOURISTS IN RECIFE-PE, BRAZIL - FROM A BRAZILIAN COP

1) Stay in a group. Always walk with other tourists or brazilian friends when going to events and touristic spots. You will feel safer and BE safer.

2) Be aware of pickpockets! Do not carry your belongings or wallet in an open or easily accessible pocket or purse. If possible, use a device similiar to the one in image 1.

3) Do not carry large amounts of money in your pocket or wallet, opting for credit cards or travellers check.

4) Do not carry your original documents to big crowds or events. Remember you can have a difficult time getting back home without your passport.

5) If possible, avoid places with big crowds and, if caught inside a tumult, run to an open space and look for the nearest police officer (images 2 and 3).

6) Using your camera or expensive eletronic devices in places without police officers may attract thefts. Using a slim camera can be a smart choice. Same tip for jewellery.

7) If you are being victim of a crime, immediately call 190 and ask for help. You can also search for the nearest police officer. If you lose your documents or need to register a crime that already occurred, go to the nearest police station.

8) If you rent a car, it is smart to keep your windows closed - when in traffic, and not to leave expensive belongings visible inside a parked vehicle. Always look for the safest place to park.

9) If you party and drink, it is good to have a sober friend look after you and your belongings. Never pick a fight and remember you are visiting a country and people that deserve respect. Remember driving after drinking alcohol is ilegal in Brazil and you can go to jail.

10) We live in a city with very hot weather. If you are not use to it, water and sunblock lotions are your best friends.

Brazilian are very friendly people and we are delighted to have you here during the Worldcup. Police officers all around the country are working hard so you can have the safest and greatest time ever. But I warn you... We are going to be the worldcup champions!

the woman on the phone said tickets already printed have to be surrendered 7 (full) in advance (at the counter) while unprinted ones can be put of for resale until 3 days in advance (online or organised at the counter)

 

Are you able to cart more than one match before you pay for the tickets? I always assumed you could but testing the system last night, whenever I added a ticket to cart I only had payment options and could not get back to the screen where you select the tickets. Was I just being blind or do you have to pay for each ticket before you purchase another?

 

It is possible buy tickets with the credit card of another person who is not the applicant? Anyone here done this?
