Just looking for some feedback on ticket collection such as wait times, etc. Good / bad experiences. Thanks
As in picking up the tickets at the centres ahead of matches? How would anybody know (unless time travel exists!)
I just thought this would be a good thread going forward. I also know of a couple of BS members that have already picked up their tickets!
I'm definitely interested in feedback from anyone that has picked up tickets so far. Smooth or painful process? I'm particularly interested to know if these ticket collection machines are being set up in the airport....it would be a huge help if I could pick up the tickets when I land in Rio! Anyone got news?
I didn't check the collection section yet, but this is going to be a big problem for me as I don't get in Brazil till 4th, and have a match on 5th. Collection centers wont be open on the match day and the day before that
Where did you get that info? This is clear that the collection centers are open everyday. You just cant pick them up at the stadium, regardless of what day. You can pick your tickets up on the 4th when you land or the day of the game at one of the many collection centers.... http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/ticketing/ticket-information/ticket-collection/index.html
The FIFA website still says "Additional Ticket Collection locations, including some at international airports within Brazil, will be confirmed at a later date."
I've asked this several times but have yet to get a clear answer. People who've picked up their tickets already, if I use one of the automatic machines, can I select which tickets to print or does it automatically print out of all of them?
not sure, for SA i think it just automatically printed all tickets (except for conditionals). i don't recall if you could opt out of printing select games. they do have a staffed desk right next to it, i'm sure they could assist... maybe.
Does anyone know if a credit card having been cancelled will make any difference to the machines? I'm thinking that a cancelled card should still work - because the machines are just reading the data on the card, they're not making a connection to Visa etc.
Gave a copy of my passport verified as true copy and a letter for my mate to collect some tickets and he was turned away as they needed proof the letter was written by me. Utterly crazy. So need to send a verified letter now.
Did they give you any detail on this? I'm guessing it needs to be notarized? I'm thinking of having a friend go pick mine up (we arrive on match day) and want to make sure he gets everything he needs.
From the linked FIFA document (http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/ticketing/legal/sales-regulations/index.html) at Section 11, you need a power of attorney and other notarized documents: All Tickets comprised in a successful Ticket Application must be personally collected by the Ticket Applicant or by a legal representative holding a power of attorney specific for these purposes. Proper identification with embedded photo and/or the payment card used in the transaction must be presented at the FIFA Venue Ticketing Centres as specified in the Ticket Application Form. IN CASE THE TICKET APPLICANT WISHES THE TICKETS TO BE COLLECTED BY A THIRD PARTY, SUCH THIRD MUST BE DULY AUTHORIZED BY THE TICKET APPLICANT BY MEANS OF A NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY AND NOTARIZED COPIES OF BOTH THE TICKET APPLICANT’S AND THE ATTORNEY’S IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS WITH EMBEDDED PHOTOGRAPHS.
What does that mean exactly? Can i find a template somewhere? Copy of passport with my signature and my friends. A letter saying he can collect signed my me, him and a third person?
This is probably over the top but I decided to be sure and used the following template that someone had posted on reddit: "I, ______, of (City) (State) (Country), (CPF# or Passport #) authorize ___________ of (City)(State)(Country), (CPF#) to represent me as my lawful agent to retrieve FIFA World Cup Tickets for the following Matches: XXXXX (Include Ticket Confirmation numbers) XXXXX XXXXX This power of attorney is limited to the provisions listed within this letter and expires upon the completion of these requirements. Signed on this date, XX of XXXX, 2014. _______________(Signature)" Realistically as long as you say I, thunder83, authorize ______ to pick up tickets under my name" and get it authorized and signed and include passport pictures, you should be all set.
I picked up tickets last weekend and what other people have said is not true. You CAN choose what to print and what not to print. You can even pick to print individual tickets for a match you have more than one ticket of. I had 2x tickets to x match and 2x tickets to y match. I was able to decide to print 1, 2, 3 or all 4 tickets at once.
I;m very keen to hear about this too...anyone know if the machines are available yet? And where are they located (before or after security)?
