Most sane people have left the old testament behind. Societal pressure has made it pretty much obsolete. Too psychotic for the modern era.
.... What the hell have I been reading? Also my only issue with gay athletes is not really towards them but more the media. I mean it's not like any other draft pick that late in the draft had a camera crew in there home. Same as when Collins was signed by the Nets and had that one good game they blew that up like it was MVP material. The thing is they are treated to a different standard instead of just people like the rest of the other athletes. If anything the need to step their game up, Collins has never been much but a below average player and Sam despite winning that defensive award was looked at as a 5-6th round pick by lots of analysts. He only went later due to his crappy combine, interviews etc. Edit: Also this generation is mad sensitive I've noticed.
I have no idea how to feel about this match up... this season just has me confused and slightly depressed.
Frankly I'm not keen on my kids seeing half of what is shown on TV between a man and a woman these days either, so can't argue with you.
The erectile dysfunction ads are on way too much as well. The music on the Viagra and Cialis ads trigger an involuntary response to distract the kids and change the channel. NFL and NASCAR have a ton of them.
So what does this have to do with tacos? I see someone else tried to derail this thread with food too
OK, I lied. I'll weigh in twice and hopefully that will be it. This an argument that tends to be the second last vestige of homophobes. The last vestige is to invoke the bible and God. I'll never understand why people think this is an argument that holds any water or where they see this is a slippery slope. Even the most staunch of gay rights defenders will tell you that it is all about consenting adults. Consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever they want, whether it is swapping, pegging, gay sex or anything else you can come up with. Anything that involves a situation where there are not two consenting adults is not okay and would never be defended by anyone. Animals cannot give consent, therefore it is not okay. The day there is a talking and thinking animal who says "hey, I want this guy to give me the business" then that changes things but that seems an unlikely scenario. Legally, anyone under the age of 18 cannot provide consent. It is not okay for someone over 18 to get it on with someone under 18. If you are under 18, you simply don't have the maturity to consent even if you think you do. Lastly, the bible - best to leave it at this: the bible includes many things, do we interpret it literally and adhere to everything? Absolutely effing not. If we did, anyone who has ever played American football should be put to death. we could go through a long list of things that are in the bible as no-no's which we conveniently ignore. Most people like to pick and choose from the bible as best fits their world outlook or what is convenient for them. Doesn't work that way. We all believe what we want to believe and I don't expect anyone to conform to my world view. However, I believe it is wrong to hate anyone for their race, creed or for who they love. I feel fairly safe in saying that if you look at the bible as a whole and interpret the messages, God (if you believe in God) would say the same thing. End rant.
Back on topic: have to look out for Gargan, guy is dangerous on throw ins. He can put them in the box as if they are free kicks. Ishizaki is dangerous on set pieces. Rob Friend can be a handful in the box.
Can you imagine having to explain biology 101 to kids. It was probably easier in the era where people were more agricultural. Back when they saw animals breeding violently all of the time.
Speaking of TV ads - apparently this ad triggered a very favorable response in men. The only problem was that non of them had a clue what it was about.
by this assessment, we have to double keane, pull our head out on throw ins and not let Friend get behind the CBs. this seems relatively straight forward and a recipe for a win. why do i feel like we aren't going to compete, much less win? and by compete i mean be competitive, not compete as a synonym for hustle, heart, work hard, etc. PS this no clark thing is really getting on my nerves.......
Problem is, if someone doesn't "celebrate" the gayness of Michael Sam and how "courageous" he is, you are a hater. That's why I love all of the self-serving tweets about him - I bet 50% are outright false statements of support that people put out to keep the rainbow mafia off of him. I should not have to accept, promote, celebrate, or applaud someone for being gay. Clay Travis on Fox Sports who I don't always agree with wrote a great piece where he explained how we have somehow decided that words are more harmful than actions. Beat your wife or rape a girl - no issue. Tweet you don't like gay men kissing - suspensions, sensitivity training, public shaming.
Back on topic (or not): We need to stop those LAG midfielders from making those long, penetrating runs. If not our rear 5 will be in for a long, hard night. Tally also needs to have a firm grip as those balls tend to get sweaty on those hot, humid Houston nights. That's all i got.
LA is gay dude, you can't say that! why not? because that's hate speech. you are being an insensitive verbal terrorist but i thought being gay was a good thing it is then why is LA being gay a bad thing? it's not then why is saying so hate speech? uhhmmm, your a bigot!!!! aaaannnndddd scene..................
A lot of people do not celebrate liuving their lives by the religious limitations that you want to put on them either. I'd be happy to keep laws away from your religion if you'll keep your religion away from the law. Sports are one of the few places that people are judged by their performance. The idea that I'd love to have a really good player performing for the Dynamo and others would rather watch a poor team because that player likes sex with men is baffling. On that topic, the problem with the gay athletes being celebrated is that none are worth talking about as stars in their sport.
I agree that you should not have to promote, celebrate, or applaud. How do you not accept someone being gay?
