I'm going to see if there is a company with a large van, or an executivo-style bus going into Recife on match day. It might be cheaper per person. But, if we have to take a cab, I would be happy to share a ride. My plan would be just to get a ride into Recife and take the Metro to the stadium.

Anybody get their Recife VST tickets yet?
Have received 2nd draw tix for Italy-Uruguay but still waiting for our group's VST tickets from first draw.
Looks like there haven't been any/many VSTs delivered yet in general.
Just curious on the Recife tix.

I've been having a hard time finding accommodations in Recife.. it seems that many people will stay at Porto de Galinhas, but it's so far away from the stadium and the airport! Plus the traffic jam and safety problem, it could be a big problem! But most accommodations near the city center are super expensive!
    Ant suggestions? Help!! :confused::cry:

I'll be there from 6/24-28, for the USA - Germany match. Any type would be fine but hopefully a hostel because it's cheaper.. And budget.. about $40/night, it seems impossible lol

You wont find anything for $40 a night thats for sure. The best reviewed hostel was Cosmopolitant and they are booked. The same owner owns a hotel that we are staying at for the USA vs Germany match. Here is their contact information: vivazboutiquehotel.com

    Hello Everyone,

I'm renting a 15 passenger mini bus for a day trip from Recife to Natal on Monday the 16th for the USA vs Ghana Match. I have a group of 12 and i'm looking to sell 2 spots for this trip to help with the cost. I'm still negotiating to try and reduce the cost but here are preliminary details.

Round Trip Private Bus up to Natal and Back to Recife after the USA/Ghana Match.
Departure Time: 9am on Monday June 16th
Departure Place: Boa Viagem (Will Provide actual address once confirmed)
Total Cost: Approximate $70 per person (includes driver, fuel, and round trip)

This is a round trip offer. I would prefer taking people looking to come back to Recife. If you only want a 1 way ticket the price would be the same. The game plan would be to arrive at Ponta Negra just after noon and enjoy the beach and local area until game time. If anyone is interested please PM me.

I'd be interested in a return trip - or even a way there, although I'd be at Praia da Pipa, which is on the way to Natal.

When are you guys planning to leave for Recife after the game? Would be cool to party there after...

Unfortunately it is true it is impossible to find a hostel in Recife on these dates. the above hotel mentioned that is owned by the same people than recife's best rated hostel told me in the email their rates are at least R$490 for a room with two beds.
I see you are a girl too hm on booking.com they mention a "Albergue Cantos de Artistas" in Olinda that has an all female dorm sure not Recife either but a lot closer than Galinhas it's $67.50 per night however :/ but at least the reviews seem good

Yeah the drive would wait for us after the match and bring us back down.... It would be cool to party after the game unfortunately extending the stay would be more $$$

Hi guys, I wanted to mention to US travelers out there that I'll be in New Orleans, Louisiana next weekend from the evening of the 23rd through mid-day on Memorial Day, the 26th. Besides knowing a couple of y'all on here who live there, I figured I might not be the only one going down there for the holiday weekend.

If you happen to be making the same trip for the holiday (or live in the area), it would be great to meet up and talk Brazil travel planning and World Cup football over the long weekend. There are obviously a ton of great places we could hang and chat, and I'd be happy to coordinate a time and place. If you'll be around, let me know and I'll make it happen. (cross-posting on a few US-heavy threads)

    Hi guys

Been following for a while but first post. I see there is a few groups looking to make the day trip to Natal on the 24th for the Italy v Uruguay game from Recife. We've still not sorted anything (3 of us - Scottish & Irish) but if there was enough of us we'd be keen to get some sort of bus sorted similar to Klopez41.

Interested to hear if anyone has looked into this yet?

There are two of us needing to travel from Recife to Natal after the Mexico v Croatia game. Hoping to travel the night of the 23rd since we don't have a place to stay in Recife that night. Seems that bus ticket schedule is still not posted for the June 23rd. I thought I read somewhere that they post the schedules a month in advance. We are staying with a host we found through airbnb on the night of the 22nd and I am also asking her for advice on how to get from Recife to Natal. It would be a one way trip for us.

I was going to get the bus and seen this a bit too late, but I did find Azul have release some more flights, so I booked them earlier this week. The CPF made the bus a no go and would be gamble arriving in Recife on the 14th, although I now will not get to Natal until the 17th, so I now have 2 spare USA v Ghana tickets if anyone is interested?
