Disappointed in how we lost to the worst team at home this past saturday. Should we be concerned?

With 9 games in the Springs season are the Rowdies already out of it? I would think we would have to win all the next games to have a shot. Right now we are 7 back of MNU.

Maybe Edwards should have spent some money on the defense instead of 150k on a fourth goalie,
the defense was average at best last season

good point on the 4th goalie.

defense the last 2 games has worried me. I'm not concerned yet.

Defense is always a problem. Starting to think it might be Ricky. No matter who is back there it seems that they do the same. Maybe a good old fashioned benching is what some of those guys need to fear. You lose your man and he scores, then you sit the next game.

It is obvious that the offense needs time to gel as well. Even if the spring title is out of reach, every point is crucial to capture one of the two at large bids.

We need 3 points against the Scorpions tomorrow night. Which Rowdies team shows up?

So safe to say we are out for the spring season? for a max of 27 points in 9 weeks, in 5 weeks we have 6.

Now the rough part of the spring season starts. We have a good away and home set up, but we play the Cosmos, Ft. Laud., Carolina and Minnesota. It is the NASL version of murders' row. We can help ourselves, pick up points against teams ahead of us and move up toward the overall season point playoff spots or have a bad set of results and wind up near the bottom. It is in our hands.

..and there goes the Spring Season. Wow. I am surprised we as a team took a dump on this 9 game season. Rowdies HAVE TO WIN the Fall season to sniff the playoffs.

Is Ricky Hill's seat getting warm?

He's looked healthy to me. So, I don't think he is hurt by any means.

He [Shriver] did score a lot of goals for Carolina, but maybe like Hristov, tape has gone out and the other teams have figured him out. Take for example, Etienne Barbarra...He was a big deal did an MLS try out, played for Carolina (I think) then went back to Malta came back did his thing went to Minn, and Tampa and did diddly poo. I think people found out about EB, and it looks like the case with Brian. Of course, it could still be too early to tell but he disappears in games like most of our players as of late.

IMO, Our team looks like it has no chemistry and it is a bunch of "big" names thrown out there. I am honestly questioning Ricky's tactics going into certain situations. I don't think the man should go, but his seat has to be warm. Again, I'm no coach but Questionable tactics are happening as of late. I ask: Is it the case of the coaches not coaching them up? Or the players not playing it up?

In terms of coaching, Lallet started last night and Hill pulled him out. Lallet was playing decent and at least trying to be creative. Shane was not. Come to find out, Ricky pulled Shane out, but we were already down by 2 and we needed the offense. Lucky and Evans should have started from the get go. Get Shane out of there and put in Lallet to hold up high.

In terms of players, we had our chances. Plenty of them. The cosmos are just better than us right now. I saw very few diagonal runs and too much passing last night. No one has the killer instinct in the final third. Is it tactics?, or we don't have the "man" for the attacking players going forward with the ball? Or like my girlfriend laments "It could be the field". Oi.

Add to the fact Thompson let in 2 soft goals. I hope Pickens is okay and we can see him return, (but again, he has some strange play as of late going off his line and doing some ballsy things) and we have ourselves a crappy night. It's been awhile since we had a loss like this. It stings.

We play bad against the good teams and play mediocre against the mediocre teams. I hope we tighten it up in the Fall Season. This post is not to lose hope, but to ask...WTF is going on with the Rowdies on the field?

Oh, and We miss Luke big time.

I think your right. There is no chemistry and are not playing together as a team. They’ve hit a rut and can’t get out. That will change with time, definitely not in time to save this half of the season though. I also believe it’s the tactics. I see too many long balls out of the back to the forwards. These balls become 50/50 and predictable and easy to defend. The forwards barely see the ball. Which leads me to the midfield. Russell looks lost and frustrated and doesn’t have the players around him to control the center of the field or maybe he just isn’t that good. Hill is a mess and Savage is hot/cold Lallet looks ok I guess. In my opinion, the key to any team is the midfield. This team use to control the ball and the game and all I see now is kickball. Major difference from last year’s tactics. Anyone else see this? …there’s still a whole other second half to the season so all hope is not lost though. COYR!

The Rowdies now have two friendlies scheduled for the World Cup break..... two days apart. o_O

Against clubs we will already play three or four times a piece this season. :(o_O:confused:

Then they are going to give tickets away to season ticket holders and do a two for one deal for everyone else.

First off, I am not impressed with the selection of opponents. Why not one match on Independence Day, against a half way decent foreign club instead of two nearly back to back matches against local clubs? Something, you know, unique.

Second, I feel that these will be a hard sell. Maybe not, but who knows.

Last, if you are giving away all these tickets, then revenue can't be the goal. Is it simply to be able to show that the Rowdies have a bunch of events to get leverage in the ALF struggle?
