I think that they will easily progress to the group stage but I am a little worried about the squad depth. I mean if they arent too tired they will get through the group stage even. I dont think our game against hertha was very telling of how the season will go because I still think there's a chance they add another player of consequence right at the transfer deadline.
This was the only Eintracht thread I could find, but I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I'll be coming the Germany and it looks like I'll be able to make it to the Eintracht match vs Hoffenheim on 7 December. I've been to the stadium once before in 2006, but what is the policy on bringing in any bags or anything like that from the outside? My flight gets in that morning, and I figure I will have time to check out the Christmas Market in Frankfurt before heading to the game. If I have a couple of things with me, will they let me in the stadium? I believe the train "station" at the stadium is just a platform, not a real building with lockers or anything. What about a small back-pack? Thanks in advance for any advice.
I doubt that they let you in with a bag full of stuff, but there is usually a place somewhere around a stadium to drop stuff off that they dont accept inside, the security at the entrance should be able to tell you where. Alternatively you could leave it in one of the coin-lockers at hauptbahnhof or at the innercity station "hauptwache" if you come back there after the game. I think that would be your safest bet. There are plenty of lockers at the hauptbahnhof on track 24. have fun at the game!
Thanks, Doc, I appreciate the advice. I'll be in Darmstadt, and since my flight gets in around 11 am I might just go there directly from the airport and freshen up and then come back in time for the 15:30 kickoff. I will have plenty of time after the game to go to the Christmas Market. I'm drawing a blank, but I am trying to remember the German word for an all-day train ticket. Last time I was there it was something like 15 Euro for a R/T between Darmstadt and Frankfurt Hbf and it also icluded unlimited travel on the U-bahn, which would get me to/from the game. Any idea of what that ticket is called?
Thats only for Frankfurt. If you want to travel between Darmstadt and Frankfurt, the Tageskarte will cost 14,80€. That should be cheaper than a Tageskarte for Frankfurt and two single trips to and from Darmstadt tough.
Awesome fan support yesterday. The 12,000 fans that travelled with the team to Bordeaux set a Europa League record for most fans at a match on the road. Frankfurt clinched their group.
What is it that sets Frankfurt's fan support apart from so many others in the bundesliga and football in general? I am always amazed by the level of support they receive even though they seem to be an elevator club. Truly remarkable!
Well, if you're unfamiliar with Germany, Frankfurt(am Main) is actually at the heart of a metropolitan region that includes almost 6 million people. So there's that but also Frankfurt is a REALLY big club that was very successful until the past decade or so when the club mismanaged their finances. As for what sets them apart? I dont know, Germans are always enthusiastic about football but Germans are even more enthusiastic about recreating things(I have a friend who always throws beach themed parties or another friend of mine who only drinks Jack Daniels because he wants to feel like he's a rockstar) maybe it's this culture of association that started with Germans who went to England and really enjoyed the atmosphere and said to themselves "we have to do it just like they would!" I mean this is just my theory but if anyone on this board lives in Germany they will tell you something that this is a possible explanation.
4-2 DFB-Pokal victory over Sandhausen today. Hat-trick for Joselu who's really been in scoring form lately. Stadium atmosphere was unreal. The stadium literally shakes beginning at 2:02 in the video:
I picked up my ticket online today for the Hoffenheim match. My work colleagues bailed :-( so I am on my own. I looked at ticket sales and it seems there were only a handful of tickets left, at least the 23 euro ones, so I didn't want to risk being shut out.
Great result in Porto tonight! http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...lbericht_fc-porto_eintracht-frankfurt-32.html Also impressive to see so many Eintracht fans making the trip to Portugal (creating a home game atmosphere ) ... kinda reminded me of our EuroLeague game in Rome last season (when we had around 10,000 fans there as well).
Yeah its amazing, we are in a good position to advance to next round. I think we are just about as good as Porto, remember Porto couldnt even beat Zenit?
Time to check of this season. It's been a year with a lot of up and down, amazing nights in Europe but some horrible shows in the Bundesliga. In the End there was no serious thread of relegation so that's good. Time to attack again next season when Gladbach and Mainz have to handle the extra-thursdaynight-games (if Mainz manages to actually qualify this time). I wouldn't mind some more trips around Europe in 2015/16...
That's your chance, indeed. Did you make all European trips this season? Bordeaux & Porto quasi in your hands looked pretty impressive. Btw: Any chance your guys defeat Leverkusen tomorrow? ;-))
I did travel to Baku, Nicosia, Bordeaux and Porto. Wasn't able to get days off for Tel Aviv unfortunately. Its in deed impressive to travel to the outskirts of Europe to find that 1000s have done the same just to watch a game together! The people in these cities seemed to enjoy the massive show up aswell! Nope
Schwegler: "It's not about money." -> joins Hoffenheim Veh: "I want a better perspective, I want to win a Championship again" -> joins Stuttgart. I am confused.
Any update on the hiring process for Robbie Di Matteo here? Last week it was disclosed that a deal was very close to being completed. I know I know - it's the daily fail reporting this deal
Good luck for Thomas Schaaf in Frankfurt. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...aaf-uebernimmt-in-frankfurt_bin-gespannt.html
