Union and Keon Daniel agree to mutually terminate his contract. He goes from being an automatic starter in 2013 to unemployed in 2014 after failing to ever make a gameday roster.

The Philadelphia Union announced on Tuesday morning that midfielder Keon Daniel’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
Union head coach John Hackworth said in a statement, “We think this move is the best decision for both Keon’s career and our club. We wish him luck and thank him for his contributions to the Union.”

Chivas cuts pre-season signings Andrew Ribeiro and Daniel Fragoso. The recent MLS Salary list also lists defenders Lyle Martin (2007 Chivas draft pick - played last season for San Antonio) and Michael Nwiloh (2014 draft pick from Georgia State) as Chivas players although no press release has been issued to announce their signings.

There's also unconfirmed reports that Matt Dunn has signed with the club. Chivas seems to have been really quiet about signings this season.

Chivas sign 20 year old midfielder Matt Dunn. He was signed via waivers or a waiver draft - likely since [1] he was a former US U17 player signing with MLS before his college class became SuperDraft eligible (if he had gone to college for 4 years) . He had played in Germany and Serbia and/or [2] after playing in Europe, he then enrolled at University of Maine - Fort Kent for a year and left college to join MLS.

The ex-US Youth player part usually triggers a weighted lottery assuming multiple teams had an interest. If Chivas was the only interested team - they may have gone the waiver route in terms of player acquisition mechanism.

I find it interesting that two sons of legendary Dutch players have signed in the US in the past month or so. Neeskens national teammate Johan Cruyff's son Jesjua signed for Dayton in the USL this year.

I believe Jesjua is Johan's grandson.

Welcome Neeskens ... latest installment in a long line of players with famous last names shared with much more talented relatives ... Paul Dalglish, Jorge Dely Valdes, John Rooney, Bradley Wright Phillips, Jose Adolfo Valencia ...

I'd say this one is a little different, since John Neeskens is a US citizen and probably shouldn't be lumped in with other imports. Neeskens is more similar to Teal Bunbury or Alecko Eskandaroan, also US-born sons of foreign internationals.
