How thick do you have to be to bet on football as a footballer?

More details, reportedly, on Gosling. At least it wasn't on Newcastle, by the looks of it? (Not that it makes it smart...)

Pardew gets seven matches (three stadium, four touchline) for the headpush.

This forum must be dead. Not even a matchday thread and still two months to go.

    Thanks Mike Ashley.

    Thx,

    Jay!

I taped it. Heard on TalkSport (via the radio in DC!) that it was scoreless around the 70th minute. Watched this morning and was pleasantly surprised at the result. Especially because Cisse pissed away a chance a minute earlier, and we had about a dozen good shots as well.

Didn't we do the exact same thing to someone a couple of weeks ago? Last shot winner after missing a winner in extra time?

    Thx,

    Jay!

Sorry about the lack of a Match day thread - been a bit busy with things recently, we will have a thread for the Everton game tomorrow.

As far as Palace went - we managed to score a goal without Remy. For those of you keeping count - that's 37 when he's been in the team, 1 when he hasn't. Cisse's winner after missing all those chances seemed to fit in the cliche of not having time to think about it. HBA whipped the ball in so fast and it was in the net before Cisse had time to think, a purely instinctive header. If you look at all the other chances he missed they were the finishes of a striker who doesn't have any confidence.

HBA was the difference maker though - it's a shame he's not as fit as he should be. He's our only real creative outlet since Cabaye left.

There was a great pic of Willo and Tiote fouling Jozy Altidore in the Washington Post Monday.

    Thx,

Soooooooo No Remy, Krul, Debuchy, and now no Sissoko for tomorrow at ManU. Are we allowed to forfeit? I have no problem doing that and taking a 3-0 loss in the books for it because I feel the actual result will be worse. I think NBC is trying to punish Newcastle fans by pickin this as the first game on their main channel in a month.

Telegraph has a sit-down with Ben Arfa.

    Highlights, according to Hatem:
    - Not injured.
    - Training with the reserves.
    - Doesn't know why he's not being picked.
    - Wants to stay.

And Pardew basically confirms it in this interview, along with plans to discipline him for not toeing the line.

Bah. I think we should hire an Italian from Serie A...they are used to working under half crazed megalomaniac owners who muddle in order to maximize wringing out every cent of profit out of a club. They make Mike Ashley look like he knows what he doing.

is that the same interview where he says that a top ten finish was not an official target for success for this season; contradicting himeslf and Lee Charnley?

or is that in another of the ten interviews a day he gives?

Me thinks if he worked with the defense on not playing such a high line instead we'd be on a bit better run at the moment.
