From the point onwards is what will determine if Guardiola is really the greatest coach in the history. I understand that the team is not playing like he wants but how he handles the player management, and tactics for next season would be interesting.

He is the best in the world at what he does, but arguably there are other managers who could be better for THIS TEAM. Let's face it, Magath did the double with Bayern twice. Pep's season has been a disappointment, and we acquitted ourselves very poorly in Europe in all 3 knockout ties and against City in Munich.

I think you're all looking for a scapegoat for this loss and the easy option is Pep. They scored the first two on set pieces. Set pieces also took away the 2012 CL title. It's been a long standing issue with this team, it didn't suddenly happen once we hired Pep.

I won't bother anymore. It's in one ear, out the other for most people here. You clearly want to use him as a scapegoat but you can't articulate your criticism (Martinez starting is not one either, sorry - I've addressed that in the match thread) and you need an outlet for your anger so have at it. Get it out of your system.

He lost with Messi too. You can't win every match every year. Shit happens. This is no where near as bad as the humiliation of 5 straight losses to BVB with this group of players. We still have only won 3 of the past 9 matches against them.

Now we have our worst ever loss at home in front of the whole world a cl semi final

it doesn't freaking matter whether it was the highest home loss in CL or not, a loss is a loss. Everything else is just nonsense for history books

Good news guys. I called Van Buyten he told me we're winning it all again next year instead. Apparently it had something to do with Real charging Pep with rape from a few years ago and they settled on letting RM go to the finals this year. Luckily he only settled for one year. Woohoo 2015 champs!!

We have to give him and players more time. I will be happy as long as the players and the management strive to get back their lost appetite.

    This is all this was..

Boateng and Dante don't have any competition so they don't have to worry about being 100%. Next season we need to go for laporte/Benatia in the mix.

And as stated we just lost all our desire after March..

People forget we were in 3 finals of 4 years and back to back last season.. WITH a treble.

It's almost impossible to bring guys back to full desire and hunger after they achieved everything and clock out for the season.

I read all kinds of shit to be honest.

Fact is Pep scrwed up big time. Our best games of the season were BvB away and Shitty away respectively. While we played some awesome passing, the goals we scored were counter attacks, long balls and long shots. Before february and march we actually didn't pass the ball back all the times and players were making runs instead of getting close to the player who has the ball so he would have options for passing.

Blaming Boateng and Dante is stupid, every defense needs cover, especially when you are playing against Madrid or BvB, blaming Mandzu is all stupid.

Players went out of form after their injuries, and then before the end of the season Pep tried to play fullbacks as midfielders and we started to be boring and predictable. No runs, no overlapping.

Robben and Mandzu were saving most of the games, Muller also with some silly goals.

As much as i am trying not to blame Pep, most of the fault is his. He doesn't deserve to be sacked, just win the cup please.

Pep should at least be allowed to follow through on his vision and then we can criticize his selfhood. Until then. All hyperboles.

Bayern don't have the players to fulfill his vision. The Barca way requires latin players who are bred to play the fast, short-passing, we trade attack for attack kind of game, and the German players are not.
He had a huge opportunity since the Bundesliga was wrapped up in March, to focus ALL of his energy on these UCL games, and he has shown what he's capable of.
Face it, Pep was a product of a system. He's not adaptable, and imo he won't adapt to the Bayern setup either.

This was his vision. His vision is playing a single fullback at DM instead of the best partnership in the world. Using Gotze up top instead of the extremely effective Mandzukic who has been jerked around all year. Playing Kroos withdrawn, which I admit seems like a good idea until he loses all effectiveness.

Do you honestly think that Pep will ever use two DMs instead of one in order to provide more defensive cover for his defense? Because if not then he's just another ideologue who can't adapt to a new set of players, just like Vilas Boas.

I'm not saying he should be sacked, all I'm saying is that we should be asking these questions of him and not just giving him a pass because his name is Pep Guardiola and the best players in the world won the Bundesliga while he was officially the manager. We looked poor all year in Europe.
