As a coach, one matches the squad formation to the players. With the players we have available now, Podolski is a better chice IMO because he makes much better use of the opportunities presented. He's a far better goal-scorer. Giroud has a skill set-as you noted- and is a useful squad player, but he's not the guy to take you to the next level.

Dude, are you just trying to throw names out there just for the sake of it? At least get your facts right, Griezmann does not play CF, FFS. He is a winger a great one at it.

Geez it's a typo, relax. I see him as a massive upgrade over Poldi and Cazorla. I think we get him AND Draxler we would have a much improved team

This 3-0 win is so big on several fronts. We keep 4th place regardless of what manu does at goodison. And just as important if not more, this should give us supreme confidence on 5/17 for our long overdue cup triumph. :D

How much we are gonna get by flogging Ramsey to Real Madrid? Surely he will be an upgrade of Midric? Kidding off course.

as a goal scorer, yes, podolski is better. as a finisher, yes, podolski is better.

as someone to work with this current set of players, no, podolski is not. as has been mentioned, podolski has played up front for us. he - and the team - has looked like crap. this isn't baseball where a hitter is a hitter is a hitter. podolski's game has him dropping into the middle - that creates a congestion with the attacking midfielders - AND ramsey - occupying the same space. it leaves the 18 box completely void of our presence. and it leaves nobody to try to win the ball that's being sent forward.

yes, i get the point about matching formation to the players. are you sure 5 games (+1) left in the season is the time to do that?

where is the next level? do you mean, maybe, winning the premiership? like, y'know, where arsenal was - with giroud as its starting centre forward - as late as february? until the most important player on the team - ramsey - goes out along with ozil and the chances he gets dried up? that next level maybe?

And that will be that...3-0. And we all agree that Olivier Giroud should be sent packing and Luis Suarez signed immediately.

    See ya next time, ladies.

I really believe that we never get any calls our way after Ozil and Oxs penalties were disproved.

A nice win. Now let's get some help from Moyes, and if things go our way, we could wrap up fourth next weekend.

Thanks for reminding me why I haven't been here for a while. I could respond in kind to your sarcastic diatribe, but frankly, it's just not worth the time or effort.

Actually, i hope they at least tie Everton. That would give us a nice breather.

Very simply- when Ramsey and Ozil play, we are very good.

This keeps up and the cup and 4th shouldn't be too terribly difficult.

Great way to start a Sunday.

Agree! 20 goals in 33 Prem matches. A great return for anyone. He does what is asked of him. Win and hold the ball up for our midfielders. Not his fault that Ramsey, Ozil and wilshere got injured. People need to get off his back, he has had the frontline to himself almost all season. A load for anyone to bear, especially when we go down a goal and the opponent retreats back.

Bad news, Everton lead United (since WTF do I cheer for United being a Gooner?) 1-0 on a penalty in the 35th minute, shit.

There was one on Arseblog. Giroud's finishing rate is very high per chances. I am not saying he is the best striker in world, etc. but he is our striker, he works his tail off and carries himself with class (even when caught sneaking out of a model's room at 3 in the morning).
