I have to admit, Ozil is looking really good. Ramsey is causing havoc and Santi is brilliant. This MF is looking very good. But the backs look a little unsettled. Chesney a bit slow.
To be fair, Ozil's passing and touch were off his standards for the first 30-35 minutes. He was missing easy passes and didn't seem to have a feel for where people were going to be. What I mean by 'predictably' was that he hadn't played in 3 months. It's hard to have that kind of feel when you first come back.
After he created the 1-0 he started to play better, hopefully he will also play better in the second half. It's understandable that a player who hasn't played more than 1 month can be off his own standards.
Seems like the time off from training/matches has rejuvenated Ozil. Has been stronger on the ball and more willing to run back on defense.
Fair enough. I wasn't really upset with him. I was more worried about the possibility of him getting injured again, like many of our other players have after injury. That said, he shook off the rust and played very well towards the end of the half.
there are lots of negatives that can be said about huddlestone but, man, that guy can pick out a pass.
It seems to me that having a forward who can do something useful with it makes a big difference in your level of creativity. There's no doubt that we are a better team with Ramsey and Ozil in, but they are a better team with Poldi in too.
he plays the best long pass in the league. I like watching him on the ball. because he is a defensive liability and goes missing very easily. Even in this match, he hasnt gotten a touch since that goal. I would keep him around for squad depth, but the team needs a better and more consistent player to start in that position.
i don't ever cheer on or for injuries but long being taken out helps us tremendously. he was a menace in that first half.
To be fair, Giroud has looked productive in this game. May not have scored yet,but has held-up the ball and created chances. Offense has been clicking well, finally.
