Both sides ended up with ties in their opening fixtures and both will be going all out for the crucial win in this match up. I expect caution and safety to be thrown out of the window as gaining all three points is extremely important for either sides.

I will be expecting an entertaining attacking game from both.

    May the best team win.

Also, who are the Mexican players people should look out for?

I agree good luck to both teams

Mexico team -the better players in my opinion from the last game where
    Diego Martinez
    Zinha

I heard Korea ended up with 10 how many yellow cards did Korea have in the game ? Mexico had 2 Mali 3 . I heard yellow card will be a tie breaker

Outside of the United States, I think Korea plays Mexico in international competitions more than any other non-Asian team. This is the fourth time in the past 6 years. (Gold Cup, Confed Cup, World CUp, Olympics)

That said, I never know what to expect from the Mexico squad (or most people for that matter). What is the U-23 team like? How has done recently? Didn't you guys beat the USA in a rout at some point recently?

Yeah I think Mexico thrashed the U.S. 4-1 or 4-0 to eliminate them and qualify for Athens.

Yep ... they defeated the US to qualify ...

But today, Mexico missed so many chances to go ahead in the score. Very unfortunate finishing.

Should be a good game. Watch out for Zinha, he is the playmaker.

Mexico beat the USA 4-0 ,but that game was over after the 1-0 the US players lost interest so its a deceivng score.

Mexico Plays creative opening the spaces in the field. Not as precise as Argentina therefore some call it Kaos but it works, if we can only put it in the net

no offense to the mexicans but they don't impress me much. But that being said, i still don't think Korea Rep are gonna have a easy game. Honestly, i think it will be a draw.

    Cheers to Mexicainos and Koreanos...

Mexico beats USA 4:0 in that lopside game. In defense of USA, there are a lot of injuries and European clubs refused to release players. And also the coach selected few college kids as starters manwhile didn't call up a whole defense units from Europe.

But as I watched the game, I think the last Mexico U-23 team (even though didn't make it) is much better than this one.

I strongly disagree with this . The last olympic non-qualifiers where a joke .
This Mexican Olympic Team is as solid u23 as we've ever had .

Mexico will be hard. if you look at their Qualifying Round Matches.

Mexico 3 - Trinidad & Tobago 1 (Korea Drew 1-1 even though that was NT)
    Mexico 4 - Jamaica 0
    Mexico 1 - Costa Rica 1
    Mexico 4 - United States 0 (Nice)
    Mexico 1 - Costa Rica 0

    Their Key Player:
    Rafael Marquez Lugo (Mexico)
    Diego Martinez (Mexico)

They both score lot of goals. It will be tough match but if Korea field with their starting players like Choi Sung Guk, Lee Chun Soo and Yoo Sang Chul(And get rid of tapper Jo Jae Jin), we should win this match.

BTW: Why didn't Choi Sung Guk Played in first match...? Hope he plays vs Mexico.

im definately rooting for Mexico, but Korea impressses me everytime, better than Japan. Korea is a team that never seems to get tired. They run as fast in the 90th minute as they did in the 1st. Mexico definately dominated Mali, but Bravo could not score. If they play like they did against Mali, but score this time, i think Korea cannot compete. However, if Korea scores first that could be a problem.

Really looking forward to this game. What I really hope is neither team plays dirty and causes controversy... because that always sucks. Good luck Mexico! But more luck to Korea. :)

The South Korean coach has said in an interview that South Korea will exploit Mexico's disadvantage in their height through set-plays.

Oh man, I smell recipe for disaster. I sure as hell hope that's not the only tactic he's cooked up for our squad. Our dumb coach should realize, we're not Germany and Mexico are not the Saudis.

Average of Mexican players height is 174cm so who knows maybe for once Kim Ho Gon gets right.

He also said he will play Choi Sung Guk too but only as Sub.

i think mexico was sharper than korea in their first game. but if korea plays very physically they'll still have a good shot to win.

    and i hope they do.

Kim Ho gon does have the right strategy IMO ,Mexico has always had a weekness in set-Plays and I dont think its the height disadvantage ,I beleive its lack of concentration .

Good luck to the Korean Team !

    Quick notes.

The 2000 No-Show squad was probably the best Olympic squad we had ever assembled. It included our 4 headed monster from Atlas (Osorno, Zepeda, JP Rodriguez, Rafael Marquez) which was highly acclaimed at the time, with Rafa already playing overseas. We all know who was the bright one of the four. For some reason, we just choked against Honduras and passed up a brilliant opportunity.

This squad is very dynamic, very offensive minded and pretty experienced in terms of first team football playing time. Weaknesses: The Coach. The typical MGD factor - Mexican Goal Drought.

As for players to watch out for:

We have 5 that have been given time with the senior squad.

Juan Pablo Garcia (forward), Francisco Javier Rodriguez(cb), Mario Perez(lb), Diego Martinez (rb - captain), Luis Ernesto Perez (a-mid)

1 over23 that has been surging in popularity with both his league play and Tri experience.

    Omar Bravo (forward)

1 over 23 naturalized brazilian who's a mystery seeing as how this is first ever call up to the Mexican National Team.

    Antonio Naelson - Zinha (mid)

1 over 23 whose callup is always questionable, very much enigmatic.

    Israel Lopez (mid)

    My personal favorites are easy.

Diego Martinez, JP Garcia, Mario Perez and Luis Ernesto Perez.

Awesome guys who I hope to be seeing alot more from during the next 2 World Cup cycles.

Goodluck to both sides. May the better team. Hopefully it's us. ;)

i'm hoping for a comeback like in the 1998 World Cup. Mexico was down 1-0 in the first half and came back to win 3-1. the ref is retarded.

Nice goal by Kim Jung-Woo (I hope that's his name). Pretty lackluster game though. Korea needs someone who can cross the ball. Lee Chun-Soo, LOVE the hair buddy. Ok, no I don't.
