My thought is "Wow, Escobar needs to deliver and Keel is a steal." Pretty much the same sentiment as most others I am sure.

I was coming to post exactly that. $600k+ is a lot of money in this league. Here's hoping he starts producing pretty soon. If not, I'm all for giving his money to Diaz to keep him around for a long time.

The other thing I noticed is, wasn't Jacobson supposed to be a cheaper, albeit less talented, Dax? Now he's an equally expensive, albeit less talented, Dax.

Does anyone know/remember if the listed salaries have the transfer fees rolled into them?

I am rejoicing how the salaries have improved over the years. Acosta making $79,000? That's fantastic. Keel? Yes, his agent should be fired. The guy has been a major addition for us. From what he is contributing, Michel is still underpaid. He has really picked it up in defending and his dead ball skill is amazing. Like many, I think AJ is overpaid, mainly because I think he is weak when it comes to attacking. I know he is a d-mid, but he still has to be effective helping the offense at this level. Luccin needs to hang it up. Sorry, but you're trying to ride a horse that can't even leave the barn. To me, the $326,000 question is -- is George John truly worth that much on paper? I know he's had injury issues, but even when he's healthy, that's a lot of money. I'm glad to see him make it, but I wonder if we bought into the "he's going to Europe" hype way too much and overpaid for his services. I am glad to see Loyd's making some decent money now, but I am really concerned about his performance. To me, he is a shadow of his former self.

John is worth it when healthy but can't believe he's been out this long over a bruised knee. He needs to get back ASAP.

Seeing the price/play of players, what do we need more--a cheaper box-to-box to replace Jacobson? Another CAM to back up Diaz?

When (and that is the key word) healthy, George John is arguably the best CB in MLS. In fact, I'd go so far to say that if he had been healthy and had been able an ability to stay healthy, he'd be starting for the US in Brazil. John is not only an excellent defender, but since returning from his small spell in England, has turned up his passing skill.

I love Omar, he's a Dallas kid and I've watched him since his Texans days... But he is a terrible passer of the ball, and never has been the type to confidently pass the ball out of the back in the middle of the field. Watch him. Watch how many times he boots the ball unnecessarily, or when he does try to pass on the ground, a 10-20 yard pass to a CM, well, it's not consistently good. Watching Omar's last few USMNT appearances has really made my frustration over John's injury situation worse.

So, yes FriscoKid. If he's healthy, John is well worth the price... but he's got to get, and stay, healthy.
