I think Ali G's humour escapes some people wherever they are from...
Nah, you've just got to watch it. If you havent heard of him, he's a comedian from Cambridge University who has loads of different persona's. He has a TV series and it's supurb. In fact many of the people who have commented here on him are actually American - Nicephoras, Kinghenry, Yossarian, Phishy and Coach. Seriously it's not racist, but completly unpolitically correct and very funny. Get the DVD out, you'll enjot it!!

Coach is NOT a fan of Ali G.

Coach is a fan of, well, Coach McGuirk. And Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

He has a show on HBO Sunday's at 10:30pm. Too funny. I love it when he mixes up people on purpose like asking Buzz Alderan if he was pissed that Louie Armstrong got to walk on the moon before him and he kept calling him Buzz Lightyear. They don't have his DVDs in the US, I bought them when I was over London last time. Check him out.

Ah, I don't do the HBO thing, so that may be why I'm not familiar with him. I don't typically buy DVDs either unless I already know I like it. But if it's politically incorrect, there's a good chance I'd like it, so maybe I'll have to find one somewhere to watch.

Honestly he's worth it, if you can't get the DVD's on rental in the States, then buy one, I promise you'll buy others after you watch it!!

It's not a done deal. The Spanish papers are the ones who are reporting it and they have been reporting it's a done deal for god knows how many times already. For 33 million pounds I would sell him but it's quoted in euros so it's still a low figure.

well, honestly, I trust arseblog's "exclusives" cause 99.5% of the time, that guy's right. this time, I wish it aint true but I guess vieira should really go now considering the 'team spirit' is kinda ruined due to all the speculation and stuff..

Svard has been involved in the past few pre-seasons and failed to make an impression on the first team. I think the fact that Fabregas played ahead of him in the Charity Shield has brought home to him just how far down the pecking order he now is. A move is probably the best thing for him and the club. I wish him well.

    Yaya coming?

someone on awimb claims Yaya Toure has been signed by us. no domestsic links though. You'll recall that he is highly rated by Kolo and wenger.

just wanted to restate... IF paddy leaves.. i think Hargreaves would be an ideal player to immediately step into the first team..... defo can do the job~~ IMO of course~

    Argie bloke still coming?

Now that Paddy has put on the new kit, are we still in the market for macherona? (you know who I mean) He sounds ideal for current and longterm needs. Anyone know?

    Re: Argie bloke still coming?

Good question. I saw him play for Argentina in the Olympics the other day and he looked neat and tidy sitting in front of the back four. He looked good, but the opposition weren't the best as Argentina spanked Serbia & Montenegro 6-0. I doubt if we'll splash out £7.5m for a player who will be on the bench at best now that Paddy's staying.

This could have deserved another thread, but what about the lack of defensive signings? We tried to get Trabelsi, but other than that, we didn't pick up anybody. Does this worry anybody else besides me? I know Vieira is staying, which will help with central midfield defense, but shouldn't we have tried for another central defender and another right back (since Trabelsi fell through)?

i do believe we have made a mistake in losing out on trabelsi as he wouls have been a more than useful addition to our squad. he wouldnt have only been a top gap player he would be one of the very few players we could have signed who would have actaully improved our team.

Is the Trabelsi deal actually dead? He's not gone anywhere else as far as I know. Maybe Wenger and the board are just waiting for him to come to his senses.

Unstuck as, well, it's not the off season anymore.

    Let the games begin!

Healthy Senderos is almost as good as a signing, though he is certainly unproven.

Likewise, Flamini is also unproven, but he is a signing.

Maybe the best bet is the continuing improvement of Gael Clichy. He's a left sided player and Trabelsi is right, but Clichy is a defender type who happens to have one of the world's best left backs playing ahead of him.
