I can't remember the last time I have been this excited for a home game. The opener was exciting for obvious reasons, but I am looking forward to actually watching us play. it is not a chore anymore!
I don't think that TFC lays down and dies. I can't see Bradley letting that happen. They might have some pride and fight left in them. They will probably switch to bunker and counter. Crew 1-0.
True, Bradley has pride and I'm sure they will fight hard, but TFC has never really been good at the soccer part.
It's MLS. A league built around parity. Toronto lost 3-0 last weekend. It's extremely unlikely they'll lose 3-0 again this weekend. The Crew is going to have to go out and work hard and earn those three points if they really want them.
First loss of the season. 2 - 0 final. Toronto scores early and it deflates the team. They score another howler late but it doesn't matter. This board melts down, there's a return to reality. Most fans can't watch the game as it is not televised. I leave just after halftime and have to pee REALLY badly but not so bad that I stop somewhere, make it home just in time.
Garyn seemed to have a good review of the new setting. I was just wondering since I had read that it may be moved around depending on the match. Thank you for the information. We will probably be there around 1(ish) after a lunch at Fourth Street. Ah does it feel good to be back in a Crew day routine. Also, we may bring our old canopy (the original Crew supporters tailgating machine) since there is a very small chance we could see rain, and I would like to be prepared due to our little guy. Oh and don't let a 9 month old beat you to the tailgate! Your Crew fan score might take a hit.
Looking forward to this game - First time in a while outside a Crewsmas. Shame I can't hurl abuse at Defoe for being a useless git for England though.
.... That is what my rational side is telling me will happen... The other side: I believe that we will win/I believe in Higuain.
Soooo.......we had vacation plans and were scheduled to fly out on Saturday morning. I couldn't do it. $200 in airline change fees later and I will see you all at the match Saturday night! And trust me, I cannot afford it! GO CREW !!!!!!
Parkhurst played 90 for USMNT this week. Does this factor into the TFC game? I'm not worried, its early in the season but some seem to think he'll be tired for this match. Does he play the whole match for Columbus? Curious how everyone thinks his USMNT call up will impact this match.
He plays center back for us so won't be asked to make 90 yard runs up and back all night like he did Wednesday. I don't think it will be much of a factor. The travel and play is taxing. I'm glad we don't have a road game tomorrow for sure. I do think he booked his spot in the 23 man USMNT World Cup roster though. He played well enough and can be counted on to play at a high level at any of the 4 back line spots.
Or perhaps he is taking on your title for surrealist fan... I read that post and thought: that is fracking nuts. Go on your god damn vacation. Boy do I hope Crew perform well tomorrow. For the sake of that guy's sanity.
I look for us to come out fast. We started so sharply against Seattle, that first 10, 15 minutes we just took it to them. The same thing is needed tomorrow. TFC will likely be looking to get through that first faze unscathed as many road teams do (though not this Crew team, we take the field looking to win the damn game (love it)). Up to us to make that early pressure pay off in a goal. An early lead can turn this one on its head, forcing a depleted TFC to chase for an equalizer while opening up space for us to attack. 3-0 Crew.
I'm in South Bend for the weekend (Mishawaka side). Any good bars around here that'll show an MLS match during Fnal Four weekend?
Just bought my tickets in the Nordecke from the Crew Union. (my season ticket pkg doesn't have this weeks game) and i am not trading any in, even if I could. Looking forward to finding the tailgate and my son and I joining in.
