Objectively speaking, Iran did not offically lose a game , showed great game against Korea, and at the game against Japan, Iran had more chance and was dangerous , so I have no logical ground for not voting for Iran.

But I am Japanese , I can not betray Japanese players who fought hard with their hearts(though they could not play so well) under severe circumstance and will play a very hard game after this.

Yet again, Jordan fans are cheating on the poll but that doesn't matter since it's a public vote and everyone can see who has voted for whom....

I know we are leading this poll by a lot but don't need to point out the obvious...Who cares about some poll it has already been discussed that we were the best team in the tournement in a several different threads in which the majority of the posters agreed to it. No one thinks jordan was the best team in the tournement except some jordanian where as most of the souh koreans japanese and even chinese members say that iran was the best. As for Jordan they probably had the best defense... difintely one of the top 5 teams in the tournement their goali espicially was awsome we are gonna have a hard time in amman...

yes another vote for Jordan plz:D

Besides, we r the best in defense, and the most leathal in offense, just look who dominated the attackes during japan and kuwait.By the way, most of the times we score from one single attack...Don't u remember....?!

Anyway Iran deserved those credits, but lets wait and see what will happen in Amman ...

As a jordanian I am really happy with how jordan performed in this cup, but lets be honest here jordan was not the best team in cup. Even though Japan won with some strange inhcidents happening but Japan is by far better than Jordan, don't forget the team is missing alot of key players.
In my opinion Iran was the best team, and Ali Karimi was the best player, except the Oman game the refs conmstantly cheated against them.
Scraping a draw fron Korea does not mean we are better than them, lets admit it they dominated the game for the whole 90 minutes, and the encounter with Japan (which I believe was our best game) was also dominated by Japan.
Wether you want to believe or not the fact is the Jordanian team is still amatuers and we still need years to reach the standard of other countries in Asia, and even if we get to beat Iran we will not reach the WC in Germany because we still have Japan, Korea and China to deal with, And Bahrain, Oman and Uzbekistan who we can't garantee a result when we play against.
Jordan has improved, but to stay we reached the top is a big lie to ourselves, and expecting to reach the WC will only put huge pressure on our amatuer players the same pressure that made them miss 4 penalties in a row.
The game against Iran will show were we stand, and if we think thats a game in hand then bye bye second round stage.
One other thing I think the AFC is crap, the whole management should be changed, what the hell are they thinking in give the AC07 to 4 countries with automatic spots that none of them deserve! if you think this AC had bad refs wait untill 2007 when the refs with try to help the 4 host countries reach second round, it will be a joke

this poll will be a joke if iran wins. Best team should either be japan or china, the finalists.

lets say i agree with you on 45% of what u said.
    But ur contradicting ur self.....
I admit our players are amateur, but tell me how thoses amateur reached the qurt-finals, how they win 3 of 4 games played this year. They really got poor standards!Dont they!?ha?
Please try to read more about thre JFC and u will discover that its the most funded organisation in Jordan and the most organized. U cant talk abt standards here, JFC is long way in the best standards.Do u think that Prince Ali and Hamzeh are heading an organization with poor standards??? Man am so so sorry for u.U really diapointed me.
But as u said we are not the best team in Asia, but we are one of the bests. We are ranked 5th.Ur trying to be honest and forgetting ur mind! we are ranked 37 th world wide, when we were ranked 130 3 years ago...!!!
And plz Japan didnt dominate the match, but Korea did.Rewatch them carefuly.
Anyway what u said is really irelivant, and what i mean is we r not the bests, this is true, and we have no professional players, but after all we are doing better than professional players in other known teams.
Please my good friend, dont take this personal, but try to read more about our country, and show to others that we are on a good road.Thanx for ur understanding.

Why do we have this poll (though I voted)? Hey I have an idea. Why don't we not play the tournament, and just vote in a poll? Sheesh, guys. Japan won the tourney, so they are the best team of the tourney. That is why they play the game.

    True!
But sometimed the best team doesn't win the cup for many reasons such as corruption or plain bad luck... For example Turkey was the best team in 2002 WC or Cheze Republic the best team in 2004 Euro ;) Yet neither won the cup :)

Best teams actually rarely win the tourneys. I had to vote for Iran because I saw a european style soccer in a west asian team and I personally like that. However given all choices I think Oman was definately the best team. The could have easily beaten japan (since they truley outplayed the Japanese team)
They could have easily beaten Iran (and almost did)
They just got the death group which was unfortunate for them. From what I understood they have been playing together since they were 18 or so? and thus they play very well together (it showed).
All other teams were rather lame, specially those who tried to do what greece did, defend and thrive on counter attacks. Which is absoluetly boring a sure way to kill interest in a game.
    My opinion.

Korea because they have the most potential, they just had a couple of bad games against Jordan and Iran.

Japan is an obvious second. They deserved to win the cup.

Well, you could have a debate if the question was stated something like, "Of the teams that happened to play in the Asian Cup 2004, which is the best team." Which basically is like asking which is the best Asian team, outside of the context of the tourney. By asking which team was the best team of Asian Cup 2004, by definition, it HAS to be the winner of the tournament.

Sorry if that sounds like a circular argument, but isn't the purpose of the tourney to determine the best team for that short, limited period of time, situation and location? Iranian fans might argue that for one match (perhaps against Korea), their quality of play exceeded that of Japan in any of their games in the entire tourney, but by winning the tournament, in my opinion, Japan was the best team. If they were to do the tourney all over again next month and Iran wins it, then they would be the best team of the tourney.

    Am I just babbling?

Japan, after all, they won the thing, but Iran probably played the most entertaining brand of football. China was also impressive.
