Just for fun, I tried accessing the stream via my phone on 4th Street's wireless and somehow got the Portland game. As someone else said, it's a travesty that we could have something special and a lot of people refuse to pay more to TW to watch the games. It's a premium fee for a local team. I don't blame them for wanting to save money and get what they believe is a better provider for their needs.
You l And they should stop mentioning it before TWC gets wind of it and sues Roku and ends the fun for those few.
I don't know what you're all complaining about. The anwer is simple - if you want to watch your beloved Crew, just move out of Ohio. I've heard San Francisco doesn't have blackout restrictions for the the Black & Gold.
My Dad told me that he gets the games on the alt channel 24 on twc now. He doesnt have a box so I was surprised it was on that channel.
According the TWC post game: 1. The Eastern Conference only has 8 teams 2. The Crew had 92% possession (and change), and Seattle 37% (and change). While it was nice to have a PG show, to say I wasn't exactly blown away would be an understatement. On the positive side, I have 1 friend with TWC, and now we all gather at their house for games instead of watching them individually from home. So there could be a social benefit.
My neighbor has "basic" TWC also , and he called us when he saw it on the alt channel-24. Picture wasn't great, but was nice to see a match finally.
My wife and I both have laptops. Mine was blacked out but she could get the MLS Live feed. No idea why or how, but it was nice. The only issue was that I had to listen to the Seattle broadcast.
If one of you is using a company network, the company's proxy servers might be elsewhere. I used to work in an office in Ohio but the company's proxy servers were in CT so geolocating technology (Google ads, etc) thought I was in CT.
Yeah, I would have thought the same think, except I was using the work laptop and my company is located here in Columbus (I was blacked out). No clue why her's was available.
Maybe your company uses an IP that isn't in Columbus?? Or does your company have a home office outside of Columbus? Our IT is technically in DC, for example.
Mine was the one blacked out. My company is based in Columbus. My wife has her own personal laptop (just a regular Dell) it is registered to her and our address is in Columbus. She had access. No idea why.
I watched the first half at DVT and then picked my daughter up and went home. MLS feed was blacked out and I couldn't find a pirate feed so I followed the last 25 minutes on Twitter. Great win, wish I could have had the adrenalin rush that you get when experiencing it live.
It's not the John Snapchatter or whatever his name is that is sponsoring the Crew, its Columbus based Franchisee's. If that makes a difference
The postgame show for home games is a little better because they include 3G's presser and some player interviews.
You know what was really cool about the Indians opener last night (other than the win)? IT WAS ON TV, on all providers.
Nick Swisher would've drowned it out anyways. Seriously, that guy is excitable even when reading a legal disclaimer.
