Is there some way we can get some clarification on the rules of moderating?

I have had several low key non controversial posts deleted by a moderator who has told me he feels that he can delete my posts whenever he feels like it.

We do use delete occasionally but the mod should provide an explanation for why.

Apologies (I hope I am not hijacking this thread), but I just wanted to inquire whether the regulations when it comes to posting have changed? (I have been absent from BigSoccer for over a year and wasn't able to find the updated rules, maybe I am not attentive enough). Are user posts no longer automatically published/need to be approved by a moderator before they become visible to all members of the community? (I responded to a thread in the "soccer polls" subforum, but when I tried editing my comment, I realized that it hadn't been posted). Thank you in advance for your help!

Posts need to be approved by moderators before appearing in the BigSoccer Polls forum but as far as I know nowhere else (at least in no other forum I post in).

    That's correct - just polls.

Thank you very much for the clarification, glad to hear that the rule is in place just for polls! :) I will make sure to be patient and wait for my comment to appear - the thread that I posted in was about the suspension of Josip Šimunić and my reply didn't include any swear words or insults, though I may have been guilty of necroposting.

Is there an ignore list tool on this forum?

If so how do I ignore someone? Better yet how do I put a mod on ignore? I have my reasons.

Because I would like to call fernb8 out on his moderating duties as I feel he's not doing his job correctly. I have had problems with this person now for 3 years and he has done nothing but give me warning and inboxes yet refuses to hear my side of the story and refuses to warn anyone else.

Just recently I get an inbox from him about an incident where I called someone a fool, yet the other person called me an idiot. Heat of the moment I understand that, but when he's only warning me about it and the other person gets let off scott free because they are better friends I dont think that is right. I can also bring up any more incidents should you allow it just inbox me and I'll be glad to share, the proof is in all my inboxes he has sent me down the years alone.

We don't allow mods to be ignored - but if you are calling someone a fool, that seems like a pretty controllable way to avoid contact from a moderator.

IME, the mods generally provide enough leeway to merit deletion of posts when the poster whose posts have been deleted to know why. Sadly, not everyone takes the hint, and complaint threads can crop up as a result.

I too have a problem with some Moderators who seem to gang up together to supress free speech. Like I dont think a player is worthy of a place in the Brasil squad and they gang up to pretend he is when he is not even in Scolaris plans, then they try to make me out to be the bad guy.
If we have issues with a Mod or we think he may be unsuitable for the job (this website attracts advertising by encouraging lively debate on football issues, and they try to dictate issues and not allow their opinions to be opposed) who do we contact?

    I'm having issues with moderators.

I was banned from the NYC MLS forum and was provided with a warning of "trolling" but no explanation. I asked the moderator Sport Billy if he could define trolling and he refused.

I wouldn't normally complain but this comes after getting verbally insulted by a number of members here such as Egbert Souse and JasonMa.

Meanwhile, what I posted online were facts, links, and articles regarding pertinent issues involving NYCFC's stadium plans and training facilities. What I wrote was totally appropriate but because fans didn't like what I wrote - I was banned.

There seems to be a huge double standard and I'm requesting help. However, if there is going to be siding with people because they've been here longer or because they are friends, etc - just let me know now. Because I'm not interested in participating in a website that's interested in double standards.

I'm requesting a full investigation, explanation and re-instatement if deemed so.

Actually at no point did I verbally assault you, nor did I insult you in writing.

Here's the thread he refers to, starting at the bottom of this page and continuing for the next couple of pages before @Ismitje tells us all to knock it off.

Next time you want to report somebody, at least get the facts right.

How do you verbally insult someone, in writing?

Some people have to sound things out while they type.
